I've had the opinion for awhile that the Dem lifers in these agencies tend to play with the "interim" numbers on these economic reports, and only when the final revision comes out do we see the true numbers.

0.5 percentage points is huge when you're talking about the entire U.S. economy. How can they be so inaccurate? Would Greenspan and the Fed have acted the same way on interest rates if the data were better?
