I saw a billboard for the American Lung Association yesterday that showed two men hugging with the text...

We didn't come out to get lung cancer

Of course I was in Hollywood at the time.

Your forgot: 5) Proctor & Gamble is a corporation that seeks to sell its products to anyone who is willing to buy it.

That is pretty much what this comes down to. Gay dollars are as good as straight dollars.

People think that there's some sort of conspiracy at P&G to advance the so-called "gay agenda." That's nonsense. The only conspiracy at P&G, or any other company that tries to sell goods and services to homosexuals, is a conspiracy to part homosxuals from their greenbacks.

Yeah, keep dishonestly tossing that straw man to the board.

Proctor and Gamble is funding the propaganda in that homo-activist publication, the homosexual lifestyle and whatever other homosexual efforts the publication's revenues go to.

They don't need more money to fund their recruiting efforts aimed at kids in schools, their efforts to finish the destruction of the family through homosexual so-called "marriage" or any of their other insidious sub-causes.

I put lots of evidence pertaining to Wildmon's several legitimate notices (especially the "track record" of P&G) in the first few comments of this thread.

So far, homo-activist comments here only contain the usual rhetoric: straw men and name calling fallacies.

You repeat the straw men, "Modernman," we repeat the evidence. LJ, like I said, repetition of rhetoric--even after their rhetoric has been disproven--is one of the main tactics of the anti-family opposition and of the left. They have no shame, even after the Log Packin' "Republicans" flamed our Republican Party and said that they're going away (when they never voted with us to begin with).

A Short Track Record On P&G's Promotion of Homosexuality

  • P&G recently wrote to their Cincinnati employees urging them to support the repeal of a city law that forbids giving special rights to homosexuals. In 1993, the citizens in Cincinnati adopted the law by a vote of 62% to 38%. P&G is now working to get that law repealed and has given $10,000 toward that goal.

  • P&G regularly supports pro-homosexual media with advertising. According to the pro-homosexual Internet news site 365Gay.com, "Procter & Gamble has been a long time supporter of the gay community. It has one of the strongest workplace equality policies among American companies and is a frequent advertiser in the LGBT media, including 365Gay.com"

  • At the request of homosexual activist groups, P&G dropped advertising support for television talk show host, Dr. Laura Schlessinger, because of her politically incorrect view that homosexuality is wrong. http://davidsisler.com/06-10-2000.htm

  • Procter & Gamble is a major corporate sponsor of the annual Cincinnati Pride (homosexual) event celebrating homosexuality. http://www.cincypride.com

  • P&G has given $10,000 to Citizens to Restore Fairness, a political homosexual activist group. The co-leader of the campaign is a P&G corporate executive. http://www.pgboycott.com/PGContributions.pdf

  • P&G supports an employee network group called GABLE (Gay and Bi-Sexual, Lesbian Employees of Procter & Gamble).

  • P&G's benefits program includes domestic partnership benefits for same-sex partners. Andrea Adkins of Dayton, a P&G employee for over 20 years, said that the company’s decision to offer domestic partner benefits will be a "very influential for other large typically conservative companies. People do look to Procter & Gamble as an example," Adkins said. http://www.pg.com/canada/diversit.htm

  • P&G sponsors the annual “Out & Equal Workplace Advocates” workplace summits. Out and Equal is a homosexual advocacy organization promoting homosexuality in major companies. http://www.outandequal.org/pages/newsletter/2003-06.pdf

  • P&G was named by PlanetOut as a top 20 company to work for based on their pro-homosexual support and benefits. http://www.planetout.com/pno/money/article.html?sernum=308
WARNING: This site contains photos that depict homosexual physical contact.

  • In 2004, the Human Rights Campaign gave P&G a score of 86 percent in a Corporate Equality Index (CEI). The CEI rates large American businesses on how they are treating gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender employees, consumers and investors. Click Here

Proctor and Gamble is funding the propaganda in that homo-activist publication, the homosexual lifestyle and whatever other homosexual efforts the publication's revenues go to.

The executives at P&G have a fiduciary duty to the shareholders to sell as much toothpaste and laundry detergent as possible. If that means advertising in a gay publication, so be it.

In any event, whatever message the gay publication is putting out, it would seem that the people who read that publication are already among the converted. So it's not like P&G's ad money is being used to "turn" anyone into a homosexual.

Just who are you accusing of being a "homo-activist" in this thread, sonny?

Anyone who disagrees with him, of course.

Don Wildmon referred to Xtra! in his mail posted above. See the following.

OF PRINTERS AND PRESS GANGS
Sean Murphy
Director, Western Region
Catholic Civil Rights League
"Hannon is a director of Pink Triangle Press, which publishes Toronto's Xtra!, Ottawa's Capital Xtra and Vancouver's Xtra West. He considers Canada's prohibition of child pornography a "foul", "stupid" and "absurd" law, and takes pleasure in being associated with John Robin Sharpe, who, at the time of Hannon's glowing reference to him as "that unsung hero of Canadian resistance",17 had been convicted for possession of child pornography and charged for sexual assault of a young boy;18 he has since been convicted. Hannon is still immensely proud of his Men Loving Boys Loving Men, which can be found on-line, "brought to you by The Canadian Lesbian and Gay Archives"19 - into whose service Scott Brockie has been indefinitely conscripted by order of three learned superior court judges."

http://www.cbc.ca/news/background/samesexrights/timeline_canada.html
("Same Sex Rights," "Canada Timeline," CBC News)
Jan. 5, 1978
"The Pink Triangle Press (now publisher of Xtra magazine) is charged with 'possession of obscene material for the purpose of distribution' and 'the use of mails for the purpose of transmitting anything that is obscene, indecent or scurrilous' for publishing an article titled 'Men Loving Boys Loving Men' in the Dec. 1977/Jan. 1978 issue of The Body Politic.
After almost six years in the courts, including two trials, the case is finally resolved when on Oct. 15, 1983 the deadline passes for the Crown to appeal the second court acquittal. (In the first trial, The Pink Triangle Press had also won an acquittal but upon appeal the Crown won a retrial.)
The case results in an important precedent. On June 15, 1982, Judge Thomas Mercer, the judge for the second trial, rules that the article 'does, in fact, advocate pedophilia,' but says, 'It is perfectly legal to advocate what in itself would be unacceptable to most Canadians.'

Proctor & Gamble is a corporation that seeks to sell its products to anyone who is willing to buy it.

They can't sell fabric softener to homosexuals without showing two men in bed? It's not what they're selling to whom, but how they're selling it that's the problem. It's the old "frog in boiling water" thing. Companies like P&G keep upping the temperature--in such tiny increments that people who notice and complain are made to feel foolish for being such stick-in-the-muds or prudes.

Ten years ago you probably wouldn't have seen an ad like this from a major company--what are we going to see ten years from now? And what effect will it--and the TV shows, movies, music, etc.--have on how homosexuality and homosexual activism is viewed in this country?

And, of course, money and profit trump all else.

I mean, the Germans had all that hair, gold teeth, and skin - why not make a profit and put them to use?

Money is God, for sure.

What is the remark about C.S. Lewis supposed to mean?

Your childish name calling and arrogant, nasty, irrational and childish attacks on reasonable freepers who do not support the "gay" agenda is not what Free Republic is for. This is a conservative website and Jim Robinson has stated he is opposed to the homosexual agenda.

People who are attacking us for not genuflecting to P and G have not addressed one single point of the real argument. As usual.
