Walter Cronkite and CBS stressed the necessity of always having more than one source for a story

Yes sir, Cronkite always had sources -- real sources not that phony-baloney stuff. Sources like Norman Cousins (establish an effective system of world law that will assure peace with justice), the World Federalists Association (lots of sources here), and IMO his Ho in Hanoi are just a few.

There was very little talk radio. There was no Fox News. There was no Internet. There were no bloggers.

Yes sir, mainstream media employees, we have a free press again. You won't change, you don't need to change. You have a right to pursue your agenda.

We will give the rest of the story and that's the way it is this September, 2004.

**chuckle**

I'll chalk you up as someone who really, really doesn't like Weyrich - not that there's anything wrong with that.

Weyrich - "This is the reason that the liberals are so anxious to shut down talk radio. This is why they curse Fox News and are trying to figure out a scheme to put them out of business. This is why the liberals are so anxious to tax and regulate the Internet. These are the gasps of a dying industry. Rather resign? Heck no. He should stay there so he can go down with the ship."

I took it as Weyrich wanting to watch the body of the senile Rather twisting slowly, slowly in the wind.
