What is that all about? "4 bronze stars"? February 2000?

If the AP can get a federal judge to order the Pentagon to release all of President Bush's military records under the "Freedom of Information Act" why can't the same be done for Kerry? Has anyone in the RNC or any conservative tried to do this?

If he did receive a Dishonorable Discharge and it was not upgraded until 2001 then anyone with this information should report him to the BATFE. A DD is a disabling factor for Firearm possession and the BATFE has been forbidden since around 1993-4 of reviewing the disqualification and restoring firearms rights. For this reason I'm more inclined to believe he may have received a General Discharge. It is easier to give a General than a Dishonorable, it is administrative verses Court martial. The reason for the General Discharge will be listed on the Full DD214. When you receive a DD214 you get 2 copies one will show general info and is about 4" shorter than the other which will contain the info relating to justification, lost time and any restrictions.
At least that is the way mine was. I received a General Under Honorable in 1986 for Alcoholism (been on the wagon since 1990). The short copy was for employers who wanted a copy to verify Veteran status. The longer form was for VA, Military related matters.
Kerry's DD214 is not forged, but there is a HUGE problem with the DD214 on his website.

Anyone that has been an officer in the US Armed Forces will immediately see the problem.
When you graduate from college and go to officer's candidate school, you are an enlisted (E-5) person. If you successfully complete officers candidate school, you are discharged (DD214) as an enlisted person and commissioned as an officer. Years later when you complete your required service time you are discharged AGAIN (another DD214), this time as an officer.
Look at Kerry's DD214, box 3. The rank is E-5, NOT Lt(jg). Also check the dates and other info.
This DD214 (Honorable Discharge) is NOT Kerry's discharge from his time as an officer.

Where are they? They disappeared after the DNC except for Rassmussen.
Check with his county clerk's office. Many times important records, such as a DD214, are registered with the clerk's office. That way, if the papers are lost, a copy of the original can be obtained at the clerk's office.
Of course, in heavily democrat Massof2sits, the Kerry-friendly local government has probably cleaned up that embarrassing problem.

I think it's likely Kerry got a "General Discharge" because of his attitude and anti-US Military activities. A "general" discharge is obviously not as bad as a "dishonorable", but it means the military was not real fond of you.
Then, either during the Carter amnesty outrage, or Clinton's pardon binge, Kerry had his Discharge upgraded to an "honorable" for the record.
One thing for sure, it smells funny.

I see two DD-214's at that link. The second one shows Kerry as LTJG.
50 - You are correct, however, in the file linked, there are two dd-214's. The first is as you note, the second is Release from Active Duty as an officer - but not a discharge.
Silly question, but in light of some of the comments about sKerry's history, why is the Race blank (7a) not filled in with something? What is his race?
