Since he's married to the icy Ta-RAY-za, I'm sure that
Kerry is the MASTERdeBATER.

I lived in Manhattan and had a carry permit for 19 years. Under Rudy, when it came up for the two-year renewal, he had made so impossible that even I could not get it again. He is socially liberal on everything.

Although I like the guy and have voted for him, he is a very liberal pubby who has supported late-term abortion (which is unforgivable in my mind).

I believe you are correct.

Well, I can tell you this. If it boils down to Rudy vs. McCain, I'll back Rudy in a heartbeat.

Where the hell is McCain, anyway? I thought he was going to support Bush and campaign for him?

McCain is about McCain, which is why I don't give a damn for him.

I don't think McCain will run. I think he's had it with running for president. Besides he is not really fit for that anymore and neither is his wife. He did a bit of campaigning for Bush in Arizona but then it stopped.

What's that yellow thing on Kerry's left wrist? Is it some kind of signal?

U serious?? Is McCain in the running for 08? Christ the man would be what? 72? I seriously doubt he'll be in any sort of good health to run.

You left out the salient fact that he endorsed Mario Cuomo (of all people) over George Pataki, most likely because he thought MC would win.

I love Rudy for what he's done for NYC and America since 9/11, but he's not a conservative leader, any more than Arnold. Popular, but not conservative.

Wrong choice for Prez, IMHO.

Put that crap aside, will ya? The man lifted up the largest city in the United States after a major tragedy. He's not running yet; he's trying to help Bush. Quit pissin' in the Cheerios.

Please esplain, ss, exactly what damage is being caused by calling a spade a spade, and a social liberal, social -ist by the appropriate terms.

God bless Giuliani for supporting W. God bless him with the wisdom to either change his "free government" ways, or at least the wisdom not to run for President. He will be severely opposed if he tries to do that.

McCain is already running hard running for 2008.

It'll be fun seeing if he decides whether to run for or against the conservative base of his own party. Maybe he won't make up his mind till it's over.

Well, if he's opposed by Alan Keyes or Chuck Hegel, or another milquetoast, Rudy will be a shoo in.

He's so popular, he may not need the far right to win.

I'd much rather see him 86 Hillary in NY. He's just perfect for that state.

I don't think he'll play as well to the masses as a presidential candidate.

I also would like to see him take Hillary out in '06. Of course, if it looks like that is going to happen, Hillary won't run.

I think you'd be surprised at how well Rudy will play across the country, especially if terrorism is front and center.

"if he's opposed by Alan Keyes or Chuck Hegel..."

We'll do much better than that. If Bush loses now due to fraud, the New Media will enforce fixing our voting systems. Bush runs again and wins. If Bush wins this go-around, then Tommy Franks and Condi Rice, and probably a few others, may be competing. Jeb Bush, Pataki, Santorum... Lots of candidates, and even a conservative in the mix.

There will likely be lots of candidates, but Rudy is going to be the bell cow in that herd. Eisenhower's run was a freak; he didn't do much as president, either.

Voters are not much inclined to put somebody in office who's never run for anything, so I discount Franks and Condi Rice.

Pataki's dull, Santorum's a Senator (Senators don't win..look at Kerry). And, I like Jeb, but George W. is the last Bush who will be President for a while.

The governor of Colorado, Owens (I forgot his first name) has a solid reputation, but I don't know much about him.

Rudy's speech at the RNC solidified his national stature. I don't agree with all of his positions, but, if we're still fighting al-Qaeda, he's the best man for the job.

ss, when you decided to write "far right" (assuming this is your term for genuine conservatives -- you know, those who would get 90%+ ratings from from American Conservative Union) did you know you were refering to founders and the great, great share of posters in FreeRepublic.com?

Keep an eye on Haley Barbour, in Mississippi.
