Meehan said many of the remarks attributed to Kerry were from a questionnaire filled out by campaign staff. That's right, John boy, blame it on the staff! You freaking dork.

He owned it before he didn't own it.
And the interview was an exclusive before it was a questionnaire.

Vintage Kerry: He owned an assault rifle before he didn't own one.

Fox News just did a segment about the rifle.
Seems that Kerry did not actually do that interview. The magazine sent the questions to him and his staff answered the questions not him. They somehow got confused and mentioned a rifle that he used in Vietnam. Strange that they would know about that, I guess Kerry has been showing his home movies again.

Outdoor Life claimed it had done an exclusive interview with the candidates, but Meehan said many of the remarks attributed to Kerry were from a questionnaire filled out by campaign staff. So, is the magazine misstating its "exclusive interview", or Meehan just trying to fob this off as a "staff error"? Should be easy for Outdoor Life to clear this up.

Ah. Thanks. Sounds like the "interview" was actually just the questionnaire answers.

What does Outdoor Life have to say? I hope they'll stand by their story!

This has been typical of kerry. Pass the buck to his nameless staff.

"My favorite gun is the M-16 that saved my life and that of my crew in Vietnam. I don't own one of those now, but one of my reminders of my service is a Communist Chinese assault rifle."I don't get it. If the answers come from a questionaire, where does Outdoor Life get off attributing this quote to him?

I actually did own a Communist Chinese assault rifle, before I decided against it.

Meehan told the Times he was unable to ask Kerry about the rifle last week because of the senator's hoarse voice. SUPER-lame answer.

Is there some (expletive deleted) reason why we should care what that coprocephalic Kennedy finger puppet owns ??
By now,the whole world should be aware the self-annointed "Elite" believe-in as much sincerity as their pathetic consciences can generate-they are /should be above the laws the pass to restrict our freedom.
Ted Kennedy, for example used to have bodyguards armed with Mac-10's and Uzis, and raised so much hell when the Capitol Police "interfered with" them, they just left him alone. (You and I, of course, would still be dreaming hopelessly of parole.)

The military rifle, which has no markings, came from a friend of Kerry's "years ago," Meehan said, noting rifles of that kind were first produced more than 100 years ago in Russia.
I thought that all guns made in the last 200 years had markings. I think that it is against federal law to possess an unmarked gun. The ATF should be knocking on his door and asking to see that weapon.

"Kerry is a hunter who voiced support for the recently expired assault-weapons ban and often tells citizens he's never met anyone who wanted to use an AK-47 to shoot a deer."
He REALLY wasn't in Vietnam for too long, was he? Plenty of hunters in Vietnam used AK-47's for hunting as they had/have nothing else.
There's also the fact that an AK-47 would be full-auto and would not be very much fun in a hunt since the police, the FBI, and the ATF would be trying to arrest you for illegal possession of a full-auto rifle.

Between his staff and his wife, he's going down fast!
Hmmmm....an AK for deer hunting?....well...I hate them personally (MHO!), but we've got a couple of the M59/66 Yugo SKSs and I'm thinking SERIOUSLY about using one to hunt with during gun season.
Kerry IS a double standard. All the liberals that I must be around stopped talking enthusiasticly about him weeks ago. They KNOW what's coming. He's FINISHED. I've been saying this for a couple of weeks now. I don't think he knows it yet...and if he does, he's not coming to terms with it.
He has NO vision...NO plan...and his record as a legislator is DISMAL. I believe his (former) followers are simply afraid that he doesn't have the guts to take on Islamic fundementalism like GWB.
