"During a single phone conversation with Lockhart, Burkett said he suggested a "couple of concepts on what I thought [Kerry] had to do" to beat Bush. In return, he said, Lockhart tried to "convince me as to why I should give them the documents.""
Was this phone call before or after Burkett met with Cleland and Rassmann on their trip to the Crawford Ranch???

They act like they are the victims here.

This story just gets more and more funny as it goes along. You know... I'm not saying it happened... but I could see a scenario where some enterprising young republican adviser says.... "let's set this Burkett idiot up". We'll give him some disinformation that is VERY easily debunked... and we'll see how far they run with it.
IF that happened.... I just think it is absolutely hillarious.

I hope Burkett gets mad enough, or scared enough, to be willing to name names and get some real heat going here. Do you think if the justice department were going to put pressure on him for forgery and libel, he'd trade immunity for destroying the Kerry campaign?
He's a cornered rat, and cornered rats can be made to run in the right direction... if you put on the pressure and give him an exit.
