The MSM is still playing catch-up. But that's OK, we have no problem with them trailing us.
BALLAD OF DAN RATHER
(Sung to the tune from the Beverly Hillbillies)
Come and listen to my story 'bout a man named Dan,
The documents were fake and he didn't give a damn;
He put 'em on the air, an' he thought he'd done the job,
But up from the web come a howlin' mob.
Blogs, that is.
Web logs.
Checkin' facts.
Well, the first thing you know ol' Dan's a-runnin' fast;
Made a false report an' it bit him in the ass;
He said 'dog-gonnit, I done thought I'd get away!'
But it turned out to be his a-reckonin' day.
Busted, that is.
Red-faced.
Mud in the eye.
Well, now it's time to say goodbye to Dan and all his men;
And they would like to shoot you folks for turnin' them in;
You're all invited back next week to watch the Evening News,
And see which correspondent's picked to fill Dan's empty shoes.
Y'all come back, now, hear?
That annoys me too. I heard someone say last night that Drudge was a blog. Sheeeesh.
I'm sure the writer would characterize Mary Mapes as having ". . . a history of heartfelt activism."
Really? Where's the proof? Many FReepers said that superscript was possible on typewriters of the time....but not superscript that small and high above the midpoint of the font.
On a type-setting machine, yes. But not on a typewriter.

Here I go, dating myself again.
I associate the term "bulletin board" or, if you will "BBS" (bulletin board system) with hosts accessible via dial-up.
Most of them offered file sharing and mail services (anybody remember FIDOnet?), some did have online chat or log-style discussion areas (usualy single-threaded), and later, shell accounts which provided FTP (remember, this was during the pre-World Wide Web era) access to the Internet.
I'd like to know how they found out his identity. Did he give it up? I'd be pretty ticked. No wonder he's not posting anymore. His anonymity is blown.
Their article resounds with the theme, "Right wing conspiracy" -- at least, from their point of view. They don't know that reality hit them.
Wait a minute! Last I heard, we wuz just a bunch o pajama-wearing, gun-totin' red-neck drunk keyboard commandos. Perhaps we're a bit more than that, Old Media?
I love that -- "Ozark Caligula". Heh...
