Bush presents the most potent potential opponent to the anti Western nations and anti Western supra national forces since Ronald Reagan. It is in the interest of a backstabber like Putin to appear, at certain times, especially in the realm of rhetoric, to support Bush. The goal is to steer the current leadership of the US away from confrontation with Russia, at least for now. There are geopolitical imperatives, from the perspective of the Kremlin, which trump honorable behavior toward the West.
Putin, for all his bluster and rhetoric, continues to encourage Russian arms to be sent to Syria, Iran, Sudan and other terrorist sponsoring states.
I believe he said he grew up in Cuba and hated the Russians there.
And what are you, a 17 year old punk who adores Manja?
The truth is none of us who question Putin's honor and sincerity "hate Russians."
If I hated Russians then it would mean that I hate my own (God rest his soul) grandfather!
But I do love the truth. I hate spin. And I do not trust the Russian government. While they understandably have a problem with terror, that does not mean for one moment that they are our unrelenting ally in the WOT. A number of things they are doing are actually against us. You are either with us, or against us. There is no middle ground.
I don't like punk music - and do you mean manga? The Japanese art form? The answer is no. What are you into?
What seems liek an over defense of Putin (and it is not) is an attempt to right misconceptions and wrongs.
We should never "trust" a nation that can wipe us out like Russia can - But never trust in bugaboos about Russia hitched to the old Cold War past either.
Russia is helping Iran with nukes? Pakistan - our ally has nukes - nuclear power plant in Pakistan first built be GE.
Russia helps some unsavory Socialist Arab types? We help Wahhabist Arab nations.
Neither side is clean. The failure of both sides is that neother could overcome the Cold War mentalities to unite in the war on terror. Both are guilty by mo reconing. America sure ignored al-Qaeda when al-Qaeda was fighting Russian interests pre 9/11....
Bump.
"we"??? Ping to 101
They DO NOT sympathize with the Chechens. They want to USE and ABUSE them as mere tools to damage Russia.
Chechen clans are too small, too barbaric and are located in too remote land to became a modern viable nation. At "best" they can become a base for international terrorism, crime and Muslim extremism to wreck Russian state or to inflame tribal wars in Caucasus. At worst they will be a cannon fodder for armchair warriors in the West.
Chechens should be left alone - ie allowed to slowly civilize, to learn to cooexist with their neighbors and to become productive citizens of Russia. Encouraging them to fight is as wicked as to encourage American Indians of today to stage an armed revolt against American government.
The International Communazislamofascist plan for world domination, 2004:
* Directly infiltrate Western "Right Wing" extremist groups and gain control of their agendas
[GOP's note - it must be pointed out that by definition, a true Rightist cannot be a revolutionary extremist. The true Rightist derives directly from an ancient Western tradition rooted in Church, Monarch, Family and Honor. In modern republics such as the USA, the true Rightist will defend the analogous institutions, the only real difference being that there is no monarch, but instead, the US Constitution]
* Issue uniquely tailored propaganda featuring an overall anti authoritarian theme, and, specifically injecting long standing *Leftist* Jacobin conspiracy theories, world views and anti Westernism into these "Right Wing" group's charters. The members of such groups, never having been on the Left, and never having participated in Marxist political groups, will not recognize these views as long standing Leftist ones, and will embrace them as the new day's shining light.
* Infiltrate, intermingle with and appear to adopt Christianity so as to firstly become a "Christian brother in arms" with targetted Western groups and Western nations, and, secondly, so as to steer Western Christian groups away from the proper consecration of Russia
* Foment internal division within the Western Right
* Turn the American people against *all* governmental authority, no matter whether that authority is Consitutional or not. Muddle together the rightful indignation with New Deal bureaucracy and socialism, with an overall hatred of the government, pe se.
* Continually steer the Western Left in the direction of utopian, intellectual globalism, and, ultimately get them to hate their government as well, with the caveat that they still embrace and seek participation in the vast, unionized "non partisan" entrenched bureaucracy.
* Promote the reduction of small arms ownership by law abiding citizens, all the while flooding the black market with increasing amounts of arms and munitions for them
* Tempt western corporations to do business in communist and formerly communist countries and manipulate other emerging markets to bring them in. All the while, support anarchist and anti globalist groups on the Left, and meanwhile start to move the "Right Wing extremist" groups toward the hatred of corporations as well. This is a brilliant dialectic, whereby one hand feeds the creation of a "world without borders" and corporate globalism (and even, overt treason against headquartering nations) while the other hand foments resentment of globalism and global corporations.
* Create and foment constant chaos, disinformation, illegal actions, fraud and corruption in Western electoral systems and processes.
FYI - IMHO.....
Not so in the light of the long standing relationship between the KGB and islamic radicals, PLO and what not.
PLO could have connections with KGB, while islamic radicals could have with CIA.
