Dan Rather has for decades been working in a field that paints 'reality' as they want others to see it. He's desperately clinging to the thing he does best, taking the facts and twisting them like a pretzel and then presenting the pretzels to everyone as 'facts'. But Dan got caught red-handed this time and he's finding out that you can't lie to the people forever.

His own experts told him the documents were questionable, and strongly advised him not to air them. With this in mind there is only one reason why he would have gone ahead and aired them anyway, he was trying to influence a Presidential election late in the election year. In other words, he knew John Kerry was desperate and he took the gamble trying to help him with forgeries. This is definately a criminal case.

To be fair, after watching the video, I didn't think Dan was all that horrible in his behavior. Not to defend it, though, certainly Dan shouldn't have said it.
