Good one!
Exactly !
Yep.
And no figleaf is going to cover up his nakedness...
Excellent work in progress! Can't wait to see it after the lid has been nailed shut on Rather's career.
HOW ABOUT AN APOLOGY TO PRESIDENT BUSH??????
Amen! That would be at least a teeny tiny step in the right direction, but I have been seeing (like everywhere) demands for apologies. I think we need to go way BEYOND that.
Two words---Quija Board.
"You're right! Mary wanted this huge expose' scoop that might bring down the president. She wanted it so bad, and she knew Dan did too, that she either intentionally overlooked flaws, or was too blinded by hatred for Bush to see them. Either way, Mapes has got to go."
I think you're right. She'll be forced to resign. They have to have a CBS News fall-guy. Rather will stay but will be quietly put to pasture early with a golden handshake. CBS execs will probably name his successor too, to help edge him out the door.
Licorice: "Dan, even my feral friends think you are a whack job.
The Widow Heinz had you pegged from the start
'cause you are just like Kenny."
(A very nice way to end the day - Dan Rather squirming in his own shi*!)
Agreed .. the fact that she has been after this story for 4 years is very telling
I still think someone more important tipped Mary & Dan off .. someone they could trust

In an Aug. 21 posting, Burkett referred to a conversation with former senator Max Cleland (D-Ga.) about the need to counteract Republican tactics: "I asked if they wanted to counterattack or ride this to ground and outlast it, not spending any money. He said counterattack. So I gave them the information to do it with. But none of them have called me back."
Cleland confirmed that he had a two- or three-minute conversation by cell phone with a Texan named Burkett in mid-August while he was on a car ride. He remembers Burkett saying that he had "valuable" information about Bush, and asking what he should with it. "I told him to contact the [Kerry] campaign," Cleland said. "You get this information tens of times a day, and you don't know if it is legit or not."
HEY! I have a degree!
OK , I'll be honest....it was not really that hard to get.
I guess because I come for common folk. I had a good work/study ethic.
AND I GOTTA TELL YA....Half the crap they teach is liberal minded hogwash.
I do recall reading somewere that MM's F/9/11 used Burkett's advice, and perhaps the forged Docs.
hehehe...I think I'm gonna go spy out what the DUmmies are saying about this for a few laughs. I might even bring back a quote or two.
I give quite a large rip, actually. If the chain includes Kerry campaign officials, and that fact becomes public, the election is over and we take 56 seats in the Senate. That would be a good thing and that all goes back to chain of custody.
Given their protestations about 'unimpeachable sources' and a 'rock-solid chain of custody,' CBS will be hard pressed to be vague about where and how they got them. My belief is that the whole reason CBS has twisted this long before admitting the documents were forgeries is that they had to come up with an approach to doing so that does not reveal the Kerry campaign's involvement.
It will be important to watch the hand that is not gesturing over the next few days. That hand holds the actual chain-of-custody information.
