Here goes the lefty media, trying to distract attention from the real story again. We KNOW that CBS was "tipped off" by several document experts that these things were fakes, and ran a story based on them anyway. Even if Buckhead WAS "tipped off" (which I doubt was necessary, given the blatantness of the forgeries), at least he had the sense to ACT on the tip-off. I don't find it very sinister that our tippees are smart, while the leftist media tippees are stupid.

Suspicions that MacDougald may have been tipped off have arisen because his quick comments on typography seemed to go far beyond his reputed expertiseUh, could it instead be that Buckhead noticed it so quickly because the forgeries were so stinkin' lame? I mean, c'mon, all the forger had to do was type them on a manual typewriter and no one could have told the difference. But doing them on Word in a proportional font with headline centering? Puh-leeze.

Suspicions that MacDougald may have been tipped off have arisen because his quick comments on typography seemed to go far beyond his reputed expertise. He wrote that the memos purportedly written in the early 1970s by the late Lt. Col Jerry B. Killian were "in a proportionally spaced font, probably Palatino or Times New Roman....The use of proportionally spaced fonts did not come into common use for office memos until the introduction of laser printers, word processing software and personal computers," MacDougald wrote. "Far beyond his reputed expertise"? Please, it doesn't take an expert in typesetting to know this. I knew it, and plenty of others know this. It's not some arcane and mystical piece of knowlege.

Damn propandists just can't quit.
I've got the ROPE. All we need is a good strong tree for these traitors who learned their "journalistic" craft and propaganda techniques straight from Hitler.

His identity, the Times says, "is likely to fuel speculation among Democrats that the efforts to discredit the CBS memos were engineered by Republicans eager to undermine reports that Bush received preferential treatment in the National Guard more than 30 years ago." Rewrite:
His identity, the Times says "is likely to anger Democrats who resorted to creating forged documents to bolster Democrat rumors that Bush received preferential treatment in the National Guard more than 30 years ago."
