...burning too hot for a story...

This has always been Rather's manner. His rudeness to Nixon during press conferences was okay back then because EVERYBODY hated Nixon, don't ya know?

The amazing thing in this story is how long Dan got away with it.

"It's chilling really- to watch this near psychotic meltdown."

It is and I am now wondering if Dan is in Texas for a 'check-up' and an 'MRI'.

That said; did you/anyone hear on Fox that they are preparing to disclose new info re UN et al, funding terrorists groups that we are at war with? Sounds like an incredible scenario, coming up. . .

"Dan rather is not a journalist, but he did stay at a Holiday Inn last night!"

Bet Leno's writers read FR for their jokes - or should!

He seems hellbent on taking CBS News with him and damaging the press everywhere.

. . . This is why the MSM is finally deciding to be Woodward and Bernstein with this story. They woke up and realized that Dan was taking all of them down, reputation-wise, that people, wise people, were coming out and saying this was The End by the Doors of MSM.

To the three points in this posting, I think a close fourth point is how arrogantly Rather handled the assertions once they came out. He actually claimed that [despite] whether or not the memos were authentic, the content was true, and then used that premise to demand the President "come clean" with the facts about his TANG duty.

No wonder Rather cannot beat the Simpson reruns in New York. Even the Daily News is taking this lefty to task.

Yes we should have a contest... Gold medals for all... there's not one I haven't liked so far... but something has to stick... You know the media will try to slant away from Rathergate to something more innocuous like Memogate.

Rathergate implies malice on the part of a news personality while Memogate implies everyone in the media got snookered by a disgruntled guardsman... I'm all for Rathergate sticking, but I'd sure like to see more of these tags and your DANRON was excellent.

"Dan Rather is acting like Richard Nixon."

Nixon resigned.

I think Dan assumed the MSM would give him a pass on this. Their bias was in his corner, so he thought.

Frankly, I'm surprised they didn't.

But then, they now have the Pajama brigade to contend with.

"Thesaddest part is hat even if Bush did get favored treatment 30 years ago, what difference does it make?"

There is nothing sad here! This was an official government program. You see, it was realized that so many of the best and brightest - those displaying qualities of leadership and intellectually able to get into Harvard - were so tragically killed in American and foreign wars. The country had suffered because of the premature loss to the social good which these brave men and women could have contributed. So a new government program was instituted which benefitted Mr. Bush, his colleagues and the nation. At was called AFFIRMATIVE ACTION and various forms still exist.

'Rathergate' works

Hopefully, G. Gor-dan Rather will continue to stonewall and will spend a long time in a federal pen.

"Hopefully, G. Gor-dan Rather will continue to stonewall and will spend a long time in a federal pen."

I just hope his last broadcast; was his last broadcast. Or certainly it must come soon.

And I do hope the forger; and all the enablers of this criminal fraud are taken by 'legal task' to be made accountable.

Calling the "Rathergate" places it on one man who granted is is corrupt, and ties it to a famous Republican blunder. In fact this is not Rathergate, but the "CBS Forged Documents Scandal" and the entire CBS Network deserves antipathy.
