"If Kerry is elected, we wouldn't send troops either," the unnamed official told the New York Daily News. "We don't need any more targets in Iraq."
Considering that it is France and Russia that sent the weapons to Iraq that are taking out the "targets"...

Wasn't it last week that Kerry said that if he won, he'd be able to get France to send troops?
GRAB THE SPATULA! TIME TO FLIP AGAIN!

Well, now we know what ol' Jacques thinks of all the people who have been murdered by the terrorists.

Cheese eating rifle droppers won't defend their OWN country. They banned head scarfs and that's as far as they are willing to go. LOL

France doesn't have troops to send - even if they wanted to they couldn't.
And American soldiers on the ground don't like having French forces on their flank.

Over there! Over there!
Spread the word; spread the word,
Over there!
That the French are running;
The French are running!
And they won't slow down,
Till they've soiled their underwear!

Go back in time, it was during WWII
"If Roosevelt is elected, we wouldn't send troops either," the unnamed French official told the Daily News. "We don't need any more targets in Europe."
Isn't it funny how some things NEVER change.

When asked to reply to the french statement in light of his claim that he could garner international coalition support Kerry's only response was-----

Kerry would more than likely order some French tanks though:
Q: How many gears does a French tank have?
A: 4 reverse and 1 forward, in case the enemy attacks from the rear.

Newsmax drives me nuts. They make you aware of such great stories, but they NEVER EVER EVER link to their source! Why the hell isn't there at least a link to the Daily News article they mention?!

The only people who believe that Kerry is going to be able to get troops from countries who haven't already sent troops are the intellectually dishonest morons on DU - and even many of them don't believe it and think he is just "talking a good game." In any case, Kerry is either being deceptive on this matter or is completey out of tune with the situation. Personally, I think its both.
I actually think Kerry would be a reasonbly good president if we wanted to surrender.

France: No Troops for Iraq if Kerry Wins
For historical/archive purposes:
During the Democratic Convention, talk-show host Dennis Prager got to
interview (IIRC) John Shattuck, who'd been ambassador to The Czech Republic
during the Clinton Admin.
I was SHOCKED at Shattuck's honesty (as a Democrat) when he said that during
his term of service, he learned that the French just about always refused
requests for assistance (such as soldiers and materiale in the Balkans,
I'd guess).
