I also see much anger on the dads face, especially in the 2nd picture, the one showing her BLOND brother. It seems to me that there are too many conspiracy types here that are hesitant to take anything at face value. Many of the posts on this thread bothered me, especially since we should be welcoming the family (spiderman9 and Big sis) as Freepers instead of immediately going into conspiracy mode. It's unfortunate that after the older sister and brother joined FR, they have had to face a barrage of untruths and conspiracy theories from fellow freepers.

No that THUG is not her brother. To say that that guy looks just like her older brother is a stretch. The guy certainly does look like an A-hole though.

Look BigDoom, when someone doesn't react to something the way you would react to it, then that just means he's not you and you're not him. You act as if the father doesn't beat somebody up or press charges then the whole thing must be fake. That's not true. In fact, I'm sure most people in that same situation would act closer to how the father did act than act in the manner you're suggesting.

I'm still waiting for an answer, why he refuses to pursue charges against the man who allegedly accosted him and his little girl. THAT's what's disturbing to me. Get this A-hole in Jail if he was it or take these children away from a iresponsible father. Without doing anything, I still don't buy this story.
Other point, why a freeper had to call the family, post it in the Forum and *boom" we got 2-3 members who claim to be a Padlock? Phil Padlock himself is an old Freeper. He knows Freerepublic.

When I was a teenager, I had a similar experience at a Dem rally for then aspiring candidate Jay Rockefeller. Some friends went with me to the local courthouse, the site of the rally, with Arch Moore signs. I was, believe it or not, on crutches at the time. Two very large, somewhat drunk Dems yanked the signs out of our hands and destroyed them. For whatever reason, another big guy punched one of the drunks, and a big fight ensued. The local Dem prosecuting attorney took us outside and told us if we didn't leave, he would have us arrested. We left and went straight to the local newspaper, who wrote a front page article.
Regardless of whether this was a set up or not, is it OK to treat a 3 year old like this? If it had been my 3 yr. old granddaughter, someone who have gotten a beating. Probably me, since I'd have been badly outnumbered and am not van Damme or Chuck Norris. Kudos to this father for keeping his cool, but I wonder whether he has any common sense, having subjected the 3 yr. old to this in the first place.

I think under these circumstances, a sensible Dad would not react violently, but would try to maintain calm to protect the child. Mob psychology wiht a bunch like this can be deadly, and this little girl could have gotten badly hurt. I've been in this situation and have seen it first hand. I've also been a supplier to quite a few coal mines on strike, I've crossed the picket lines, and I know how Union members behave.

Law was broken and as a responsible father he has to persue a charge.

Have to agree 'bigdoom'. They got the license plate. Obviously the guy was from out of the area. But they can still press charges for assault and battery on a three year old girl.

He won't? And has he said, why? Let me suggest. If he's afraid that police in future would surround his family just so they could exercise their right of free speech - THEN . . . JUST . . . GREAT!!! Heck, you have entire precincts out lining the streets for the latest leftist march against Americans.

So let me suggest this. He simply doesn't want that police escort, every time. He wants to mingle. He wants people to look at the signs, not the badges. And so on. Make sense? at least as to why he might not want to press charges?
