So, to recap, Bush does not kill anyone's children. Yassir Arafat, darling of the Leftists, does.
The only reason the Leftists cannot comprehend this simple reality is because they don't want to.
My family thanks all the Gold Star moms with all our hearts and pray that God will have mercy on them..and give them His peace.....the kind only He gives...
When I joined back in the 80's it was against my mom's wishes. I told her then - and I tell everyone now - it is the individual's choice in todays services not the Mom's. It is a volunteer service.
His mom did not 'let' him volunteer. As a 1st LT EOD at 24 he was a college graduate and knew exactly what he was getting into before he graduated.
While I grieve with his mother. Her son is not being honored by her premeditated outburst of emotion. This man chose his duty and performed it. The terrorists took his life when he responded to his country's call. She should be denouncing them - not the administration.
God bless him and keep him.

I guess it's just human nature to want to blame someone when something happens to your child. There is no way that I want to be anywhere near that woman's shoes, but for goodness sakes, President Bush hasn't drafted anyone. Isn't everyone that's in the military these days there on their own free will? I hope someday the woman is able to realize just how irrational she is being.
I am so sorry for her loss. Words can not describe the heartbreak a mother goes thru with the loss of her child but I do have a question for this woman. If her son had died in Kosovo or Bosnia, would she have asked the same question of Clinton? Her son did not die in vain. He avenged those that perish on 9/11 and before. Through his sacrifice, he probably saved countless others that may have perish in futher terrorists attacks after 9/11 if we had not been proactive..... That is the truth. I do hope that Mrs Bush took time to talk to this lady to let her know her son was a very special person and a hero.
Mass media parroting the lies of outfits like MoveOn and Michael Moore create a spurious legitimacy for "protests" like this. Even something as personal as a mother's grief becomes yet another tool of political exploitation.
As a United States Army Officer, Seth Dvorin would not have condoned the message of his mother's t-shirt; this is his mother cheapening his honorable (and voluntary) ultimate sacrifice in order to further her own political agenda; shameful and sad.
If the woman is really in a state of grief and moral confusion, she should be left alone. If she is a Dem plant, that's despicable. A few will support their sons' enrollment with the aim to lighten the family payroll, not to sacrifice for their country. Those are the most misguided.
Your son volunteered to lay his life on the line for me, my wife, my kids, and my neighbors. We all appreciate and honor the sacrifice he made on our behalf, even if you don't.
Prayers for the poor mother. She is obviously grief stricken. As a mother, I'm sure Laura understands and does not hold this outburst against her.

Thank you for those links, finnman - I checked your first one where you did a Google search on her. She surely makes her dead son proud, huh. I wonder if she felt so strongly when he volunteered to serve. It has to be unbearable to lose a son in war, but thank God most people don't handle it the way she is.

Have you ever heard of the stages of grief? Anger is one of them.
After losing a son, I would imagine that stuff like honor, country, patriotism, duty seem mighty trite compared to hugging that person they raised. It helps that a son was lost doing honorable things for a love of country BUT it still hurts, it still means they are gone forever.
Just give her the compassion she needs as she moves through the stages of grief. Afterall, she has given more than most.
