I'm not disputing your theory. Just vetting it. A CBS producer (Mapes) could have gone to Burkett, picked up the docs, faxed to NY. Are you suggesting that Burkett did not use the KInkos to produce or fax the docs?

Robin Rather
Environmentalist

Having lived or worked in a number of seriously UN-liveable cities such as Washington DC and San Jose, Robin Rather now spends most of her free time looking for ways to enjoy and protect Austin's quality of life.

As a community activist, she serves as an Executive Board Member of the Central Texas Regional Visioning Project, a board member of the United Way and the Austin Idea Network. She lives near Zilker Park with her husband, musician David Murray and their fine son Andy.

Robin Rather has more than 20 years of experience in the high tech field as a senior executive at Mindwave Research, Reality Research, CMP Media (publishers of Information Week and Internet Week), IntelliQuest and International Data Corporation.

Robin also serves as an environmentalist and community activist. She is a Vice President of the Hill Country Conservancy, on the advisory board of Environmental Defense, and Director of Research and Communications for Liveable City. Previously she was elected three times as Chair of the Save our Springs Alliance.

For whatever it's worth - check Kerry Spot:

Burkett was in there last Tuesday according to a talk show host

The most embarassing thing that could happen is the KILLIANS retaining an Attorney to question CBS NEWs on the Documents.

WANT ANOTHER REASON TO SUSPECT BURKETT? [09/15 11:25 PM] Marion Carr Knox, the secretary to Col. Jerry Killian, President Bush's National Guard commander, this evening, during her interview with Dan Rather: "And there are words in there that belong in the Army, not to the Air Guard. We never used those terms." From the Veterans for Peace web site: Lt. Col. Bill Burkett completed 28 years of decorated service and was medically retired from the US Army National Guard in 1998. LOL!

The only problem with Burkett as the source of the documents is that there are lots of errors in the documents that a Guardsman wouldn't make (like the Lt. Col abbreviations). Burkett may be the bag man, but the person who wrote these memos was not in the Guard or the military.

That's what I think, too.

Rather said the source lived in a "remote location." Would Burkett's location fit this description? 'Course, city boys might consider it remote.

Baird (pop. 1623) is the county seat of Callahan County and is located about 20 miles east of Abilene on I-20.

Twenty miles east of Abilene, to New Yorkers, would definitely qualify as "rural".

They've got an all-night truck stop on I-20, though...

I wonder if Burkett had help from Glenn Smith and the "Texans for Truth".

These people can't get their facts straight. First of all, Bush was inaugurated as Governor of Texas in 1995 NOT 1993. He defeated Ma Richards in Nov. 1994. I remember this because I lived in Texas at the time. Are these people such idiots they can't go to the internet to look this up. Oh yeah, I forgot, they thought Microsoft Word existed in 1972.

McClellan hinted that more documents regarding Bush's National Guard service may soon be released. Asked whether officials in the White House have seen unreleased documents, McClellan called that "a very real possibility."

The other shoe is about to drop. I smell a rope-a-dope.

Who needs reality TV when you have reality ?

If you saw Dan Rather playing the victim tonight you'd understand.

It would escalate to...
"The heavy-handed government, with no regard for Freedom of the Press, the Constitution, the 1st Amendment, is going after CBS and poor little Dan Rather who is just seeking the truth."

Let CBS wallow in their well-deserved low credibility, they've earned it! No need to pile on. The Rasmussen poll says only 27% believe the docs are real.
