I wonder if the reason for Lauer being so harsh with her is his own recent trashing by the tabloids? Or maybe they just don't want to be Dan-Rathered!

I have to say though, Kitty Kelley is at least as thorough as CBS in fact checking her story......

If those hollyweird actors can sue the gossip magazines and win, why wouldn't the Bush family do the same? If there ever was a reason for a law suit, this is it.

Credit where credit due: Lauer didn't take any of her bait....

I do not watch the Today Show much anymore but I do think Matt is smart enough to know that he and NBC will be held to account if they give a pass to such trash. I have never thought he was as partisan as Katie. He still has a chance to go off the deep end but I'll give him credit on his handling of KK the past two days.

I wonder if this "interview" would have gone differently if Rathergate hadn't hit the fan.

KELLEY: Matt, you've played golf with former President Bush.
LAUER: I've never played golf with him.

Yes it is! I believe the MSM knows they either have to get it right and fair, or they will be called on the facts. We may very well be witnessing a slow and much needed change in the MSM.

It's about time we had a system of "checks and balances" for journalism, the blogosphere is just that.

I bet she has three witnesses to the scorecard, ...
...And it was done on an IBM Composer typewriter in 1972!

..And it was done on an IBM Composer typewriter in 1972! Uhhh, it wasn't that common for caddies to carry an IBM Composer around in 1972.
You're busted!

I'm glad Matt is doing the interview, and not Katie.

Some lawsuits just aren't worth the time, money and energy. I think this is one of those times.

This is the perfect flip-flop for the Today Show. Attack the lying messenger, but make sure that her lies are spread all around the country! How pathetic.
I was really worried about how this three-day circus would play out. I think the CBS fiasco has really helped diffuse the entire attack mentality of the press. Also, like Pat Caddell, I agree that this will be the 10-day period that most folks will agree that Kerry lost the election.
The 'Rats have nothing but attack, attack, attack. We know that negative ads work, but they bring up the negatives of both sides. That's why Kerry needed to bring down his own negatives (almost 40%) before going after Bush/Cheney.

Still, undeterred by yet another misreport, Kelley contended that the Bush family enjoys a "Donna Reed Show" family image, when the truth is closer, she claimed, to "The Sopranos."
Can you imagine GHWB saying forgeddaboutit and F'n eh?

I think we need Ivermectin for these worms...that's what I give my horses and it rids them every concievable worm. Chemicals that kill worms are called antihelminics....the whole left needs a big dose of this.
