RatherBiased.com***The controversy has brewed a new blog Rathergate.com which calls for Rather's resignation. *** Source

Heard something rather(?) chilling about him recently. Apparently some of his reports from Vietnam which were supposed to be under fire, where actually recreations, done for the folks back home and raise his ratings. Bringing the "war" into America's living room. Had never heard this charge before. (I think it was on Hannity on the radio)
Maybe Kerry took Rather lessons.
My point is that it would make him deceitful.

"As Dan gambled big to create an election-transforming sensation."That's a polite way to say Dan Rather just tried to steal an election for kerry -- with the approval of CBS. Nice try, Mr. Redstone.

note to old media scum..... "we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender"

"Twisting, twisting slowly in the wind."
Yeah, I think I'll e that one to Dan. He'll appreciate the irony.

But Rather's ratings have probably never been better. At this point, perhaps, CBS has decided its all about ratings.
To: ProudVet77
I think Rather has been in that post for too long! He has become a power to himself (so he thinks). The sole authority, etc.
He has lost his objectivity long time ago, and given to frequent bias on many subjects.
I really don't know why CBS bosses are so afraid of him, and reluctant to rein him in. Could be he has accumulated power during his long stay there!

"All the others take notice!"I think Carville, Begala and their collaborators in the lamestream just took notice. They now realize they're being watched. It's almost as though the internet is ghost of Lamont Cranston.

"The U.S. Attorney should get a warrant and conduct a thorough search. CBS and Dan are not above the law."
I'm inclined to agree. This goes way beyond freedom of the press, IMHO.

Dont know about that exact incident..but as a former crew chief/door gunner, our unit did one of those...ONCE!...We were scrambled and lead to believe it was a regular mission...only when we were dropping into the supposedly hot LZ guns blazing, did they tell us the difference...Lots of pissed off crewman...That didn't happen again!!!

EXCELLENT. NEVER EVER!
And as Gen GS Patton (my hero, even though an Army doggie) used to say, "We're gonna grab the enemy by the nose and kick him in the ASS! We're not going to retreat, ever! We will keep advancing...!"

Clinton taught us that if you lie long enough, enough people will believe the lie. Dan knows this.

Yes, the press shouldn't be free to present such fiction as "authentic, verified by experts" - in this particular case even when proven beyond the shadow of a doubt that these are forgeries, to stand by their lie is completely unacceptable.
CBS should not have FCC rights to broadcast on any airwaves again. Give their bandwidth to someone who can at least show some semblance of journalism.
To: Cincinatus' Wife
He has become a parody of himself. Too stupid to know most of us are laughing at him, fool that he is.
To: Tom_Busch
This goes way beyond freedom of the press, IMHO. IMHO an investigation beginning with Rather & CBS would be the wrong avenue.
The investigation should begin with the role played by the DNC. There is plenty of evidence suggesting the DNC had a role in this. Starting with the DNC instead of CBS the path of least resistance.
To: Cincinatus' Wife
Deliberately deceitful I'd say. I can't believe he actually thought that the evidence he presented last Wednesday night, and his follow-up comedy act of Friday night passed the smell test. A highschool slacker could have done a better job of pulling off a scam like that.

Is that where Kerry learned it from?

Sadly though, I don't think it's likely there will be any investigation at all.
