The Dems try to paint Bush as evil, but how about this:

Bush also has picked up contributions from players and coaches - including a manager he once fired. Bobby Valentine, axed by Bush as manager of the Texas Rangers in 1992, gave the president the maximum $4,000 this year.

How many people would be so devoted to a former boss who fired them? That speaks pretty well of Bush.

Nice post. I wonder if after 2008 our W might want to be baseball commissioner. That would be awesome. He would straighten out any little piddling problems.

``The baseball platform was for him to springboard into politics,'' said Bruce Buchanan, a longtime Bush watcher and University of Texas government professor. ``He was the face of the Texas Rangers, as well as a substantial partner in the economic side for some years, and that enabled him to become acquainted with all of these figures.''

Well he did a great job for the Rangers. If he had screwed it up, does anyone think he would have been able win political office?

Thanks. Bud Selig is a disgrace, how MLB allowed an owner to become commissioner boggled my mind. He rigged the sale of the Red Sox to a group of cronies and the Montreal Expos are an embarrassment. I'd love to see W in charge. How about one World Series game on a weekend afternoon? I grew up when they were all played under the sun. Somebody needs to slap these networks around a bit. And they wonder why football has surpassed them as America's past time.
