For the life of me I cannot imagine why the Dems are harping on something that happened 30 years ago....it is sad. Honestly, I could care less what both Bush and Kerry did 30 years ago...but as long as Lurch makes Vietnam his "raison d'etre"......

This really is pretty much SOP, at least in the Army.
My husband went through ROTC and was commissioned as a lieutenant in the Reserves (by the time he was commissioned, Nixon had stopped the draft and they were RIFing career men and guys with four year free ride scholarships.) But he still was in the regular Army for 120 days for ADT (Active Duty for Training).

OK...I still don't agree with Karl Rove on several issues.
BUT...
He really is a genius in so far as managing rapid response and anticipating attacks.
This last couple weeks has been a masterstroke. Truly amazing.

This is probably for OCS. (Officer Candidate School). It's dated about the time that Bush would have been graduating from Yale and going to OCS.

The DUmmies are so fixated on this--it is incredible.
They actually wanted to believe that the Air National Guard and Air Force Reserves are not part of the United States Air Force.
This was the picture on Democratic Underground that they hyped and underlined.
Time for them to panic.

besides that, everyone goes through an initial training phase where you are considered "Active Duty".

120 days = 4 months. If the Dems keep insisting that Bush didn't serve in the AF, the GOP can come right back and insist that Kerry didn't serve in Vietnam.
