"Burkett wasn't a crank, but rather a stickler for proper procedure-a classic whistle-blower type. "

Oh, yeah? Well, such a stickler should have kept the ORIGINALS!

With all due respect to you and your right to bear arms, I prefer a more effective way of handling this mess. I take it to the Lord in prayer. A lot less bloody, and a lot more rewarding.

Those DUmmies are unbelievable, the entire leftist lamestream media and sKerry's campaign have basically acknowledged that the documents are fakes, and the DUmmies are trying to convince themselves that they are legitimate.

You have underestimated the sheer moral ineptitude of our Danny boy. He thought that old Slick was unimpeachable as well.

"Burkett was in the ARMY National Guard"
-------

Good observation. There is no way he would be anywhere near the ANG office. The B.S. never stops out of the DNC dissinformation machine.

Oh dear, their bringing out the "Sealords II". We're in big trouble, folks.

This habit the dims have of bringing up the Viet Nam war was really beginning to frost me. Until I realized something. Kerry is a complete and total psycho. Really - hear me out. In kerry's mind he played this heroic and dashing figure running his later-day "PT 109" through the canals of RVN - firing up villages - AND BLASTING PEOPLE WHO WORE BLACK PAJAMAS.

Well, given the latest statements regarding "bloggers wearing pajamas", I'm beginning to think that kerry thinks we (as in FR, Bloggers, Conservative, Republicas) are the VC!

And, it is totally clear to me that kerry's defense after all is said and done and he is stomped by President Bush, will be that he was simply having a Post Traumatic Stress Disorder FLASH BACK due to his intense combat time in RVN.

If kerry thinks he "earned" his Purple Hearts in RVN, wait until we (the new VC in his life) get done with him!

"Typed memos from the early '70s suggesting officers were pressured" ???

There are not "typed" memos...only copies of forged memos created with a word processer! How can this FACT be pounded into the minds of the knuckleheads out there?

Wow, a disgruntled Guard officer teaming up with a disgruntled journalist to make false allegations against the President. Now who would have figured that?

LOL and I wonder how many of us are going to watch 60 Minutes for the first time in years just to see.

Maybe some Eastcoaster can tell us... it's over now there...

This guy is a source for CBS, is disgruntled, partisan, and has familiarity with the Guard procedures and memos. I wish the FBI would raid his home NOW.

Re your: "I would bet that Burkett wrote the memos."

From story: "Fellow officers say Burkett wasn't a crank, but rather a stickler for proper procedure-a classic whistle-blower type."

If, as they say, Burkett was a 'stickler for procedure,' he sure didn't use proper military procedure in those fake memos and he should have known it.

I think it was someone in the Kerry Camp who came up with these memos. Or, maybe eFing did find them like he says below:

Sign Petition against CBS & Dan Rather HERE. 1,113 sigs so far, we need more!

"Burkett was impressive enough to cause CBS producer Mary Mapes to fly to Texas to interview him. "

Doesn't take much to impress them. All you have to do is HATE Bush and they are captivated by you.

This is what gets me. Besides all the kerning and memos and proportional punks and poofs like Rather. Anyone who has been in the military knows that you do not keep CYA memos on your subordinates.

My husband, who is a thirty year retired COL from the regular army and served as the National Guard Inspector General for the state of Arkansas as his last duty says that this Lt Col Killian memorandum cannot be authentic.

First, all personal files on a soldier or airman that are locally kept must be destroyed upon that soldier or airman's transfer from that base. Anything that is required to be maintained past that time must be inserted into the official files of that soldier or airman. These are military regulations and have been since at least 1970 when my husband entered the U.S. Military Academy.

Next, if an officer refuses an order his commander must take action. All of these actions are very specific and required by regulations. If a commander does not adhere to this policy he or she is derelict in their duty and can be prosecuted themselves.

So if Burkett is claiming that he found official or unofficial files on President Bush he is basically telling everyone who knows about the military that he knows nothing. Has nothing. Is nothing.
