Shouldn't this be, "I’m Pukin Dog, and I approved this message."? LOL

BTW, nice work.

GO, PD, GO! Excellent! Are you going to send it to the MSM?

May I copy it and send it to my private email distribution? I'll give you credit (PD or do you want to give me your name?).

What's this about booing at the R convention???

Thanks again; this was simply awesome!

The trends are in our favor. If you don’t wise up, we will kick your agenda-driven ass.

It's already too late for them, PD.

The networks and the rest of the "mainstream media" have had a monopoly on the dissemination of the news for so long that the emergence and dominance of the "new" media has not yet registered with them. Incredibly, they have failed to recognize that they are obsolete.

And maybe that is understandable.

For decades, Americans got their news after getting up from the dinner table and finding only three channels on their TVs, all spitting out the same news with the same liberal spin. The networks had a captive audience back then, and there was no alternative to their news, and certainly no dissent - - they were the only game in town. That same news was only regurgitated in the morning papers and the weekly news magazines.

It's no wonder they all believed they were invincible - - they were invincible.

But now that monopoly to which they became so accustomed has been brutally smashed to pieces by the "new" media - - talk radio, the internet (that includes us right here at Free Republic!), C-span, and 24-hour-cable news. It all came on them like a freight train and the liberal newsrooms don't know what to do. Their panic is palpable and the latest implosion at CBS ("forgery-gate") is a perfect example of that hysterical panic.

It's all over for them except for the crying.
Good riddance to bad garbage.

Forgive the rant, please. Just venting.

No forgiveness needed, this is a great letter, and the icing on the cake, it is the truth.

Howlin started a thread two nights ago, and knowledgeable FReepers have proved you exactly right. We have them on the run, and they know it.!!

best part .. the audience they are losing in droves is the audience that has and spends money ... advertisers need exactly the audience they are driving away .. and one day it will all cave in on them

Good rant. It needs a song. :)

===========================================

NOTE: it was quite difficult to make this track...do your best in singing it :)
=====================================================

MIDI - THE NIGHT THEY DROVE OLD DIXIE DOWN -- for those who haven't figured it out yet, simply go to the linked site and click on the appropriate MIDI...it will launch in your defaulted device, and you can hit BACK and go to the song to sing along

Danny Rather's my name...I really achieved some fame
But then with Peter and Tom...we all had gone down in flames

For many years we had spun the news
And we made sure we inserted our views
Our leftist pals all loved us so much
But it seems we got way too far out of touch

The night Old Media went down...all the right wingers were singing
Yes, the night Old Media went down...in boardrooms our hands we're wringing

They sang NA NA NA NA NA NA....NA NA NA NA....NA NA NA NA NA

We were the shills for DemocRATs...our paychecks got very fat
We learned as Dylan said -- That wasn't where it was at

For many years we spun the news
And we made sure we inserted our views
Our leftist pals all loved us so much
But it seems that we had gotten way out of touch

The night Old Media went down...all the right wingers were singing
Yes, the night Old Media went down...in boardrooms our hands we're wringing

They sang NA NA NA NA NA NA....NA NA NA NA....NA NA NA NA NA

FREEPERS had then 47'd us...we wondered what's the fuss
We had not seen it coming so...we got hit by a bus

For many years we had spun the news
And we made sure we inserted our views
Our leftist pals all loved us so much
But it seems we got way too far out of touch

The night Old Media went down...all the right wingers were singing
Yes, the night Old Media went down...in boardrooms our hands we're wringing

They sang NA NA NA NA NA NA....NA NA NA NA....NA NA NA NA NA

HA HA HA HA HA HA

The night Old Media went down...all the right wingers were singing
Yes, the night Old Media went down...in boardrooms our hands we're wringing

What a GREAT letter!!!

You managed to put my thoughts into print and for that alone I'm grateful.

My letters (not email which is often ignored) will go out to Dan's sponsors tomorrow. Meanwhile, keep up the good work!

Since we are addressing this to the Main Stream Media I think I will add a piece of advice.

You are not helping the Democrats as much as you think. By giving the left a pass on everything, you make it too easy for them. They do not need, as the conservative side does, to hone its argument, or to compromise when needed.

By giving them a pass, the worse in human nature is encouraged (think Ted Kennedy, and ask yourself are you really proud he is a elder statesman in the Democratic Party).

By giving them a pass, when they make a small mistake, they are not forced to back up and rethink their position; they blindly keep going down the wrong road.

By favoring one side of any argument you dilute your own power. We already know where CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, New York Times, Newsweek, and so on stands on any public issue. So when you write something, what ever effect it would have had is lessen since those that agree with you will applaud while those that disagree with you will either never read (or hear it) or if they do will ignore it.

Those of us on the right do not want you on “our side”. We want news minus the agenda. We would like our view presented without the bias that paints us all as racist or Nazis.

I have news for you, FOX news is NOT conservative, they are just so far right of you, you think they are.

You want to win back your audience and readers, try keeping the editorial on the editorial pages, and try going after both sides with equal zeal, and try to remember it is not your jobs to remake society. If you want to remake society, go into politics.

You should have seen the sad looks and witnessed the depression Friday morning when I gave the news anchors and talk show producers where I work the memogate scandal story!

Of course I made sure to include the famous "post47" and relevant FR mentions in NYPost and such.

For years I've used FR as at elast a starting point to search for breaking stories if not as an out and out source. It really bugs 'em when the net in general and FR specifically beats everybody on stories.

Another memorable one was the capture of the DC snipers. IIRC a FReeper living in a house overlooking hte interestae and rest area where it went down gave us the head's up. It was GREAT, nad just one of mnay such instances.

Even with all that though my co-workers at the radio stations where I work - mostly ratz and RINOS BTW - have discounted FR as just another website rumor mill at best, a radical right wing hate group at worst.

This story and the attribution to FR really set 'em back on their heels! Never, EVER have they become so quiet, so intimidated...so deeply saddened.

HEHEHEHEHEHEHEH!

prisoner6 PRICELESS!

Hear hear!

"On Free Republic alone, there are experts in many fields. We have writers, poets, engineers, aviators, artists, journalists(they keep that on the down-low), historians, teachers, politicians, current and former members of all services of the military, who actually know what they are talking about without having a script (or DNC talking points) shoved in their face."

Hey, wait... what about Lawyers?!?!

I thought Jim Pinkerton had a decent insight on this phenomenon. He compared the blogosphere approach to news reportage to Linux and the open source movement.
