We've had a lot of new folks join up recently. Welcome aboard, this thread is a gentle reminder of some basic posting guidelines. (And for some of you old timers as well) Please read the follow, and ask any questions. We will all try to help you out.
SEARCH
If it's a breaking news topic, check breaking news first, it's probably already posted.
To avoid duplicate posts, please search before posting. Use the published article title to prevent duplicates. The best method to search is to pick a key word or two from the title. If the article you are posting is, "Dan Rather Memo", start with 'Memo' for the key word. If it is a hot topic, you might want to use two or more keywords, in this case, try 'memo rather'. For an effective search, select 'match all words' and select 'order by post time'.
All non-sourced non-news threads are posted here. This doesnt mean your one thought is a thread by itself. Lately, we have been seeing articles posted that should be comments made on the main article. Your comment/vanity article will be pulled or moved to General Interest (Chat). Vanities should be limited to the mission of Free Republic.
For all of you who have blogs or personal web sites or personal news or opinion or forum sites that you would like to discuss or promote on Free Republic, here's the place to do it.
Our new Bloggers & Personal forum is for:
- Posting from your blog.
- Posting from other peoples blogs.
- Posting your from your personal web site.
- Posting from other peoples personal web sites.
- Promoting your blog.
- Promoting other peoples blogs.

- Promoting your favorite web sites.
- Posting from your favorite outside forums.
- Posting from your favorite lefty forums or sites (DUh and the like).
Click on the "Bloggers & Personal" forum link on the Forums sidebar of the latest posts pages.

That's better!
Come on, they don't want to see babes, they want to see hairy apes who can't shoot the boil off a liberal's hiney. You know ... women who don't shave their pits or legs.
You're going to have to make the move. This is not high school.
The redhead is rumored to be carrying Laz's baby/babies.
;)
Now that's JUST NOT RIGHT! *L*
DUh!
yeah, but does Laz know that?
You won on the shaved part... You get a get out of zot free card on that one. Please, you get 3 cards...
I tell you I love those 9mm.
Already posted! ;-)
Well, the problem with the Admin. Moderator's spiel is that if one were to spend his entire day discussing (and arguing) politics --even on a political website-- one will go bats**t nuts.
It's better to remember that life consists of the stressful (world events, work, family life) AND the relaxing (entertainment, activity) and to treat this site accordingly.
Yes, I know what the stated message of FreeRepublic is, and I appreciate it's highly informative and amusing take on the news of the day (from a conservative angle, for a change). However, just what in the hell is the problem with an occassional NON-POLITICAL post on music, movies, sports, etc. from an established Freeper. Nothing, if you ask me.
After all, some folks like myself, weegee, etc. appreciate the fact that we can discuss our non-political interests on occassion with people that we know won't be coming at us with some unrelated, "I-love-Michael-Moore", bulls**t liberal agenda.
Example: You'd be surprised, but I'd much rather discuss a good movie I just saw with decent and thoughtful Freepers, than tussle with the disgusting socialist attack dogs that have taken over the IMDB.
OK, I had a really smart-aleck post. But being a mod, I can't do that. There are drawbacks to this as well.
Hello, Are you there????? This is a political forum. You can get your fill of tabloid crap at a tabloid site.
Since the Mod on the right keeps ZOTTING my overtures, those will come in handy. ;-)
Er...Left. S'cuse me
