I think CBS should fire the entire staff who participated with the memo fiasco. Not that they had a lot of credibility before.
I watched the program Wed. night because, being familiar with Ben Barnes, I was curious about how many lies that lying crook would tell.

Isn't it Rather who did the puff peice interview with Saddam, or am I thinking of the wrong liberal ancor?
To: Cableguy
Does Rather have more respect for Castro and Saddam then he does for Republican President's - He sure asked harder questions to our President's. Just a thought.

Your post prompts a thought: Look at the opportunity CBS lost. We know this set of forgeries
has to come from some high-level Dem(s) (my theory is that CBS "obtained" them from Carville's printer) and if they'd run them by a real document expert they would have had the biggest political story of the year, maybe the decade-- one campaign trying to forge the other out of office in the middle of a war. But they were to tangled up in their bias to even bother with the checking a rookie copyboy would perform before running a story.
I saw a former CBS News exec on O'Relly tonight, whining about how the bloggers have "no checks and balances." Steve Hayes from the Weekly Standard immediately spanked him for it, but what really struck me is that we have one of the biggest news organizations on the planet using forged documents to libel a sitting President in wartime, and this guy thinks that CBS is all set on checks and balances. Heck, the bloggers have the same set of checks and balances CBS is experiencing right now: If you're a blogger and you post a hoax on your site, someone will read it and set off the Bogus alarm. Sucks to be CBS...maybe they should have thought twice about a document check by telephone.

Personally I think Wolf Blitzer is nothing more than a Dingo.
He smells the blood of one of his own and wants to join in the feeding frenzy to tear him apart.

The other mainstreamers would be stupid to not jump this story. They have an opportunity to make CBS News irrelevant over the near term. I agree. And if the others in the paleomedia stand by, they run the very real chance of getting sucked down with CBS, marking a premature demise of the entire paleomedia complex.
