Are they going to try and replicate the obviously forged sig as well?
To: GOPcapitalist
If you HAVE a typewriter like that, please type out a replica of Killian's first memo and see if your typewriter matches his. Also, please type out the following: We are at war with Oceania. We have always been at war with Oceania.

proportional spacing is just the tip of the iceberg that the Rather-Titanic hit......
To: GOPcapitalist
I checked out their post and their examples just further the arguement that the documents are forged.... funny stuff... sad for long face.

Though it makes you wonder, how smart these people are. Were they just computer illiterate. The obviously knew enough to age the documents, yet they didn't even think about font characteristics or the superscript.
They obviously don't watch perry mason etc...

Is that the sound of imploding I hear?

You got that right. The kicker is in the exact overlaps, which is statistically impossible to achieve by a typewriter.

I'll bet those chuckleheads who made the fake docs were bragging to all their buddies and having a real good laugh, saying they had a surefire plan take Bush down. Now I bet they're in a spiderhole somewhere, praying the Dems don't get to them before we do.
To: bhlewis
It wasn't even a low budget effort, it looked like a rushjob. Rush job b/c they were panicing over Bush's bounce, which was bigger than they anticipated. Probably had it calculated out as to how much they would need to chip away at what they thought would be a minimal to non-existent lead.
Dems expect people to be stupid, so they hadn't planned on Bush's surge.

The Selectric model No. 2827-9j2 can do that, I have one and it was manufactured in 1969. You sly dog.

Gentlemen,
I still have my mid-60s college era Atomic 1000 typewriter made by the Acme Typewriter Company.
Please send me the memo and I will retype it on the Atomic 1000.
If I can be of further assistance, please advise.
Yours truly,
A Concerned Citizen for Truth

What's scary, when you think about it, is that Kerry/CBS may have gotten away with this if they simply pulled out an old typewriter, and added a few typos and whiteout ink... Isn't it? Even though his widow and son are speaking out, CBS could still claim the documents are true.
To: GOPcapitalist
Well, maybe they should look for Killian's secretary as he/she should be able to set this all straight. According to his widow and his son, Killian did not type. Must've been a secretary involved. Also, all they really need to do is produce the originals of these documents. It would be a simple matter to determine whether they were typewritten or laser printed. CBS should either cough up the originals or cough up the name of their source.
