Later, however, she sent an e-mail to WND, adding, "CBS verified the authenticity of the documents by talking to individuals who had seen the documents at the time they were written. These individuals were close associates of [Bush commander] Colonel Jerry Killian and confirm that the documents reflect his opinions at the time the documents were written."

THESE WERE NOT DOCUMENT AND FORGERY EXPERTS THAT VETTED (no pun intended) THESE DOCS.

Hmmm.
The legal department at CBS is definitely working overtime tonight. The more I read, the more convinced I am that CBS is in BIG trouble here.

"and confirm that the documents reflect his opinions at the time the documents were written." Sure they did.

As is standard practice at CBS News, each of the documents broadcast on '60 Minutes' was thoroughly investigated by independent experts,Names, please.

Essentially, they just trusted the people who gave them the docs.

So, the people who verified these documents are dead, just like the author?

Names, CBS, names. We want the names.

60 Minutes consulted a handwriting analyst and document expert who believes the material is authentic. Apparantly, CBS's claim that you quoted above is not true, according to their own spokesperson's last email to WND.

Great, let them dig themselves deeper into a hole.

Convenient since Killian is dead.

To: hispanarepublicana
Well this settles it, CBS put on fake docs to try to smear Bush/
Can you believe this. "They reflect Killian's fellings at the time" Clear admission they are fake.

These must have been provided by the same person who wrote Kerry's after action reports.

"As is standard practice at CBS News, each of the documents broadcast on '60 Minutes' was thoroughly investigated by independent experts, and we are convinced of their authenticity," said Edwards
The so-called "independent experts" CBS consulted were:
Danh R. Ather
Paul B. Galla
Jaymes Carvylle
whose integrity and independence are beyond reproach.
The real story, my friends, is that the truth of any allegation against President Bush is of NO CONCERN to the MSM... it is enough for them to just throw as much crapola on the wall as possible and see if anything sticks.
If this garbage falls away tomorrow, you can bet Blather &Co will be back with all-new falsehoods next week.
We cannot rest until Nov 2....
