Let's both focus on this point: the Americans and Russians, along with all reasonable nations, SHOULD work together and eradicate the terrorists.

I side with Russia on this one issue (their response to this terrorist act). I do not believe the Russians are ready to give up their allegiance to the Palestinians and the Arab nations. As Russia sees more and more terrorism and as they see the Arab states sponsor the terrorists, they may "86" the Arab nations and start focusing more on eradicating terrorist leaders and nations--we should all hope so.

I side against America and for Russia on these initial comments from our State Department and from Vladimir Putin, but I don't think the Russians and Americans are ready to shake hands and get started working together eradicating the terrorists.

The blame for not working together can not be placed on just the Russians as to why the two are not ready to work together; the reason is also that the Americans are not ready yet (made clear by asking Russia to settle the Chechen problem "diplomatically").

Blame Russia AND the Americans. For the good of this planet, I hope some day they will partner up and wage war against the Islamic fanatics.

Whats the point of these? If it is to point out that the Russian state dept. is just as inept as the US state dept., I couldn't agree more. Govt. bureaucrats are similarly bone headed no matter what country they come from. They are the cause of much of the misery and injustice that exists in the world.

Not at all. State Dept. ineptitude has been my point all along. You are the one who tried to change the subject with your links.

No, the material behind those links above shows that we cannot trust Russia. It's common knowledge that we couldn't trust it yesterday (abstention from vote to get Syrian troops out of Lebanon). Therefore, the State Dept. and our President who directs it, are right. Russia must take a less hypocritical stance to show us and our government that it is more sincere before we'll trust it. Having the nuke project in Iran shut down immediately would be a good gesture toward that.

"Russia must take a less hypocritical stance to show us and our government that it is more sincere before we'll trust it. "

and the Russians could say the same about the US government. The truth is both governments are too large and too inefficient to be anything but hypocritical and untrustworthy. Expecting a coherent and rational position on almost any subject from either govt. is an exercise in futility.
