Yes, all children are innocent. But do you truly see no difference between deliberately targeting children for death (as these terrorists did) and inadvertantly killing innocents in the wrong place at the wrong time in war?
Many innocent children were killed when the Allies firebombed German cities to stop Hitler and fascism...do you believe that's morally equivalent to the Germans gassing innocent children at Auschwitz?

A couple of weeks ago I might have not agreed with you, but I do now.
We are foster-homing a cat who was "dumped" as a smaller kitten and he outgrew his narrow collar and it was choking him. When I cut it off and later brought him to the vet's for a checkup and treatment, he said the "worms" on him were maggots, which kept his wound clean, prevented infection and probably saved his life.
He is now fat, healthy, sassy, and the sweetest male cat I have ever met. He is all-black, and his name is Ace.

This is really the operative question. There is no question that Islamic terrorists from outside Cechnya are involved here. There is truly imported terrorism being used here in addition to the historical disagreement between Cechnya and Russia. Someone else pointed out that this was a "multiethnic" terror group. This action on these children cannot be explained on the basis of the longer historical conflict alone.
