Youth is nice, but it needs the tempering and maturity that comes with a few extra years. These are resources that need to be developed, not shot from a canon. The NY GOP does none of the above. They simply pick and place and go with gentlemens handshakes.
To put this in perspective, realize the old NY liberal party endorsed canidates that the NY GOP also did, and also the NY conservative party did.
It doesn't take age to see something really wrong there.

Generational demographics 101. Both major parties are still very dominated by the Boomers, and the Boomers are the most liberal, utopian intellectual generation ever to walk the Earth. There is not much to do but wait it out.

New York is liberal for many reasons (immigration, culture, NYC...), however the formost reason is that it has been ceded to the left. They run the media and have the institutions for the most part. Republicans acquiece, moving the points of contention further to the left.
New Yorkers need a choice, not a shadow. The Republican and Conservative parties have failed their members and all New Yorkers.

The Conservative Party has become a patronage machine. It is a junior partner to the sell-out Republicans, corrupted by power and promises thereof.
Check out George Marlins book on the party.

politics is certainly personal and cliquish. However, parties are supposed to be more than patronage machines.
