OH that is so good .
Ah, thanks Carolinamom.
I'm wondering who that is too. Yeah, and what was up with the ARMY costume? I'm a civilian and didn't catch it right away, but isn't that grounds for dicipline in itself?
I haven't read "Unfit for Command" yet (it's hard to find here in AZ). Wonder if any of the swift boat vets can enlighten us?
LOL I have had this discussion with a few people lately. It is unanimous! I can find no one who would rather have Kerry president Republican or Democrat!
I've noticed that before...multiple posts appearing with the same subject title. I did check for that headline before posting and came up empty. Guess the search function hasn't been perfected yet.
"We thought Bush was going to be invincible, so the Dems nominated our 4th string - we didn't want Hillary or Dean to get whipped and tarnished. "
I don't think your friend is being honest here-- Dean would have gone down to a defeat of Titanic proportions in any nationwide election, and Hillary never ran in the primaries. Probably the miscalculation, if there is one, was Hillary's decision not to run, except that it's only been 4 years since the Clinton's were in the White House, which means it's still way too soon for her to try to get back there. She needs to give moderates time to forget.
Lord, I sure hated seeing Hillary this morning on ABC, though. I hadn't seen her speak in years, and had sort of forgotten how seriously I dislike her.
I was recently told that they expect to lose the Presidential race (!) but that they think they might be able to grab the Senate. They have resigned themselves to losing this one and the hard lefties (sounding like our hard righties in regards to not supporting Dole against Clinton) are saying that the country will be so screwed up by Bush that they will be able to elect ANY Dem in 2008. My contact seems to think that it will be a Clinton/Dean ticket.
*bump* LOL!!

My sparring-friend is being honest, alright. It's just that she truly believes Dean (or Hillary) could have beaten Bush. She was a Dean coordinator in MD - and only then because Hillary, her first choice, didn't primary.
Like your contacts, a number of Dems I know also feel they are going to lose the Presidency yet take the Senate. I think the GOP fears a loss of the Senate as well. Despite all the money on hand, don't look for the RNC or RNSC to dump a dime into races where the GOP candidate is way down in the polls. That cash is going to races where the GOP has at least a reasonable shot at winning.
***Internally, the Democratic leadership must be beside themselves.****
Hardly. Things are going exactly to Bill, Terry and Shrillery's plan. The rest of them are just REMFs.
I don't think this race is in the bag for the President just yet. But the people who said it was Kerry's race to lose were fools. They ought to be ashamed.
