A reason to be hopeful, maybe.

The members of the House and Senate haven't done much to impress me either. I'm not keen on reelecting anyone more than once unless it is to a new job.

1st term, learn how it's done. 2nd term show me what you've learned or out the door.

I have no problems, nor do most people, with a multi-cultural society

Immigrants bringing (certain) aspects of their own culture to our shores has literally defined America, and we're all the better for it. But immigrants with no desire to learn our language, customs, and traditions are another matter entirely, especially if their loyalties still lie with their home country. Unfortunately this state of affairs seems to be more common than not these days (since the Immigration Act of 1965, to be precise), and as a result we're slowly turning into a nation the exact opposite in character of the one that catapulted us to our position in history. .....slowly, but surely.

"Not the illegals that is for sure!"

For sure it's the felons and abetters who are benefitting from illegal laborers who make those sizable donations and expect protection from prostitute politicians.

Nothing is going to change right now. What I suggest is that after Kerry's burial in November, we start an email, phone, and letter writing campaign to President Bush,

The immigration problem will not be addressed by the next administration regardless of who wins.

Actually that is a good point. He won't be running for a third term. We'll have to put on our thinking caps about our senators and congress critters. I know we have a handful of allies, but we need more to stop this.

This is going to be a whole lot of work, but if we succeed, well worth the effort.

What I don't think we have here, yet, are the kind of institutional costs that other states suffer.

If Bush has his way, you will.

Well maybe we should encourage them to address it.

He criticizes the current (immigration) laws as the "system [that] is not working".

Thanks for posting this long but interesting article. Mr. Bush has made it clear that HE DOESN'T WANT THE SYSTEM TO WORK, even though America is begging him to enforce immigration laws and protect the borders. Our votes don't count anymore to him, that's why I'm taking my vote to the Constitution Party. We won't win, but maybe we'll send a message.

Mr. Fox brags that 10% of his population is here in the U.S.

I think we should start right away. If we want to save our country.

In the future someone is going to run for office.....that vows to secure the borders and to enforce the current laws.

They will have overwelming support...AND opposition. It will be a battle royal.....
