Couldn't Rassman tread water for a minute until the other boats arrived?

Rassmann was scared poopless: big mine explosion on the other side of the river, suddenly dumped in the drink within hostile territory, hellacious cover fire coming from the boats circling the mine-damaged PCF-3. Rassmann has been quoted as saying he spent as much time on the bottom as possible to avoid being run over by a boat. Given that sKerry bugged out in a 3-mile downstream sprint, I don't blame Rassmann for worrying about being ground up by propellors. Sound carries very well under water, and the sound of sKerry's boat heading south at flank speed would undoubtedly raise hair on the back of your neck, even though you're submersed.
