I am completely disgusted at this "served in Vietnam v. those who didn't" argument!
Matthews is shameless.
The look on his face said it all!

It was a superb ambush. Matthews quizzed him on a totally different subject, the first purple heart. He got him defensive and stammering and then made him look foolish with his constant interruptions and attacks. Stellar butt boy work for his master, Kerry.
Thurlow should KISS. Its about honesty. Kerry lies. PERIOD. You notice they are arguing about enemy fire. They are no longer talking about how the other boats fled and Kerry stayed. They have dropped that lie.
To: GRRRRR
Get Cleland's remarks, will you?

The problem was that he didn't play at soundbytes and air-shots like Matthews. Maybe what he should have had was a placard saying, in the Kerry campaign colors - KERRY LIED! And then when Matthews would object, he could just say - "He lied about what he did that day." You don't have to respond to Matthews interrogation. Politicians know how to stay 'on message'. Another lawyer would - Matthews was clearly playing at lawyer. I think sometimes you have to take the initiative with someone given to rude behavior, like Matthews.

I like your tagline but shouldn't it be "Hey, hey, Johnny K! How many lies did you tell today?"

i agree, but we should complain with the following:
After watchin Chris, with his rude treatment of a Vietnam Vet...I have chosen to VOTE BUSH. Especially when these VETS out ranked and served longer than Kerry.

i have a question :
in the heat of battle, with ALL the supposed fire going on,
HOW DID KERRY KNOW RASSMANN WAS IN THE WATER IF HIS BOAT WAS
MOVING AWAY FROM WHERE THE SO-CALLED ACTION WAS ?
To: GRRRRR

Thurlow should get a medal for showing up! Notice the Kerry vets are pretty scarce when it comes to interviews.

Ah Chris (Tweety) Matthews.
A guy who did Peace Corps service instead (or to get out) Vietnam, yelling, sputtering, spitting on another Vet.
One of the worst interviews I have witnessed in 30 years of Journalism. It is no wonder his rating have dived.
On the other hand it addressed nothing about the charges leveled against Kerry. Book is number one on Amazon, and will debut number 3 on the NYT best seller list.
Truth is the genie is out of the bottle and they can't get the cork back in.
See ya Kerry...

Matthews couldn't deal with the witness so he deflects the entire interview to whether Bush should use it or not. Absurd, really.
