I agree with the principle, buy Keyes is really talking not of having other people pay but lower some people's taxes.
Keyes' magic of turning 'reparations' into what is in effect a large tax cut (similar to Kemp's 'enterprise zones' idea) is rhetorical brilliance in my mind. How else would you back Jesse Jackson into actually supporting LOWER TAXES???
To nip any "tax relief" vice "taxpayer subsidy" - money is fungible arguments, I think tax reductions are the path to reduced spending whereas tax subsidies are the road to tax increaseS. Even though, we haven't seen much of that from the current crop of RINOs in the House, the Senate, and YES - THE WHITEHOUSE!

I think the German people should have paid reparations to the Jews just US citizens paid reparations to the Japaneese interned during the war. Those payments, at least in the case of the Japanesse-Americans were paid to the people that suffered the injustice, not to descendents some 150 years or more later. There is no reason that I should pay full reparations when half of my family tree didnt come to this country until fifty years after the Civil War.
Your choice, of course, but how foolish of you. On the other hand, given your highly insulting tagline, I don't think anyone will miss your vote.

You want the UN to run Kerry's 'sensitive' foriegn policy?
You WANT liberals like Kerry to pick the next 4 supreme court justices and make sure Roe v Wade is the 'law of the land for the next 50 years?
You'll get that we dont get every possible vote for Bush in this very close race.
