Sorry... this "so-called conservative" is not so delicate as to get the vapors simply by having an agent knock on her door and ask if she know anything about violent activities planned.

Well of course you won't. They're just doing their job in protecting you from dissent possible 'criminal' behavior. Wait a minute they're protecting the convention from this, not us. Oh good, it's not like enough money and time hasn't been wasted on what's become a four day commercial from either side. Now we've got federal agents knocking on their neighbors' doors to see if they know someone that may be up to something 'naughty' like interfere with the four day commerical.

Don't worry though. Sooner or later, could be next year, could be ten years from now, you will finally realize what's happening. Of course then it'll be too late because the precedent will be in place.

'Conservatives' are so sure this won't affect them they'll drive us straight to the bottom as long as 'our' guy is in charge. What's worse is they'll keep telling us we're 'at the top' when in fact we won't have hardly a freedom left. But our politicians will be safe from dissent possible 'criminal' behavior so that will make it alright I suppose. Conservatives aren't worried about slippery slopes anymore. We're freefalling straight down the cliff and partisan hacks on both sides are arguing over who gets to be in charge of the basket instead of coming up with a viable solution

Liberty has become as much an ignored catchphrase as the US Constitution to politicians and apparently to partisan loyalists. What are you so worried these Democrats will do? Have sit-ins? Block traffic? My Lord, call out the National Guard...

I live in a heavily liberal area in Pennsylvania not too far from NYC. There is very vocal, rabid "dissent" against Bush in this neighborhood, but I have yet to see any agents knocking on doors or hear tell of neighbors receiving a visit.

to see if they know someone that may be up to something 'naughty' like interfere with the four day commerical.

You are either deliberately prettying up the intended type of activity that has been making the rounds on the hard left boards... OR... you really have no clue what you are talking about and are spouting nonsense from a well of ignorance. Either way, your comments are useless.

Sarah Bardwell, 21, an intern at a Denver antiwar group ... 'hey, we're watching you.'

Only a Clinton lover would describe themselves as an intern these days. Yuck!

The truth is they love to be watched, that's what it's all about. You can make a nice living filming their protests and selling them flattering pictures of them in handcuffs so they can brag and prove to others their leftist activist credentials.

Keep going brave subject. Tell me, when the 'they' group (not to be confused with the 'our' group for those of you in partisan world) is in control, will you be as gleeful with the FBI having set this precedent?

Here's the problem bill,

The commies and anarchists ride roughshod over my rights and destroy my property and think they should be unquestioningly allowed to do this. The dastardly FBI is saying "Hey, don't try to burn down NP's house just because your last batch of crank didn't cook up so well." And I actually appreciate this attitude. The FBI with their new precedent still won't be visiting me because I ain't makin' fertilizer bombs or tryin' to con New York City into thinkin' I just planted one.

Be aware, the stakes here are the survival of America not the right to riot.

Here's the problem Navy,

The national government is stretching itself mighty thin to rename dissent into criminal behavior. No one in their right mind (except perhaps the most ardent Republican flagwaver) expects the protestors to burn down houses, kidnap children, or any other nonsense. May block an intersection or two but I don't see anything wrong with it. Hey, it's getting their message out and as I said before, it's just disrupting the second four day commercial we've had this year. Don't agree with many on the left but under no circumstances do I see the FBI knocking on doors as being valid. Searching for terrorists maybe but these are citizens of the respective states voicing their dissent, albeit more vocally than some

What angers me is that there are many on this thread that could care less about freedom of speech, liberty, or limited government and more about the Republican party. Contrary to the worshippers' beliefs this sets yet another dangerous precedent.

That's interesting, being as anarchist/comminist terrorists have been burning and bombing here in the Pacific Northwest just in the past two years. In addition socialist/union operatives bombed demonstrations in Los Angeles in the first part of the twentieth century. The union perpetrators when caught pleaded guilty, a fact that is constantly overlooked by the left that they were connected to. Your definition of someone in his "right mind" is maybe just a LITTLE flawed. As is your dismissal of "Republican flagwavers"

May block an intersection or two but I don't see anything wrong with it. Hey, it's getting their message out and as I said before, it's just disrupting the second four day commercial we've had this year.

Apparently, you haven't been assualted while trying to go to work, or found knapsacks containing explosives hidden in shrubbery near your place of employment during "peaceful antiwar demonstrations".

The right to peaceably assemble does not grant right to intimidate using violence or threat of violence. Nor does it suspend or negate any of MY rights. Conspiring to do so is a felony everywhere in the US (Though rarely enforced). Preventing law enforcement from questioning or investigating these criminals is a goal for communists worldwide.

Party "commercials", while unappealing, are a legitmate and traditional part of our party political system and election process. A tiny violent minority dictating to everyone else is a halmark of the Marx political system.

Knocking on doors is one of the most legitimate methods of investigating terrorists, and citizens legitimately protesting will respect my rights and cooperate in these investigations rather than playing dumb and protectiong these conspiritors, so that the election process is disrupted.

The dangerous precedent you refer to is already set: Those wishing to impose liberal socialism (to the point of communism) by intimidation upon all of us know that law enforcement and patriots are hamstrung by the useful idiots that insist that freedom of speech includes the right to force the public to listen and obey by the threat of violence.

As far as freedom of speech, liberty, or limited government, I know what they are at the end of the liberal socialist agenda: non-existent. Just like MY rights are now non-existent by the instruction of these disruptors.

By the way, I am not a Republican.

This will carry precedent that President Kerry may use to ask Attorney General H. Rodham to check the "list of people" who might be "disruptive" or "disrespective" of UN Secretary General W. Jefferson Clinton.
