To the media, perception is reality. And if the media can generate a negative perception of W, you can bet your bottom dollar they will. The partisan media will find the pictures, set the stage and then ... Kerry is just waiting for the signal to start the attacks.

The leftist media did it to Bush 41 following Andrew.

They press can't do anything this time. W is solidly in the lead in FL now and won't look back. Nothing they can do about it.

If Kerry shows up it will be for purely politcal reasons. That horsefaced SOB doesn't have any business in Florida except to get votes. Graham & Nelson, SOB's in their own right are at least our senators. Edwards would be client hunting.

They can't claim that.

They are the ones that are already politicizing it.
They have been bashing how Jeb Bush has handled it.

This morning on one of the cable networks...there was a Dem talking head who mentioned how the economic problems caused by a hurricane (business places not open, service problems, etc.) could relay to the economy figures and that could "easily be used as a negative for Bush".

Hopefully the general public would not be that dumb....but I am sure folks like MSNBC and CNN understood the marching order.

Dems have no real compassion. I talked to a few guys this morning....and two of them are dems....they were both griping about news coverage and saying it was overblown.

IT SHOWED A TOTAL LACK OF COMPASSION! Showed what Dems are really about. I AM SURE KERRY WILL USE THIS FOR SOME POLITICAL ISSUE.

He will claim that Bush just went to a FEDERAL DISASTER AREA..to play politics. Which should make people wonder and ask the question...'What Would John Kerry Do'.
My guess is he would be off WIND SURFING somewhere and it would be at least 40 MINUTES before he even understood what a Hurricane is.

Dems need to understand that it is part of the President's job to go do these viewings. It helps send a message to many people who are suffering that...."You are Not alone....the country supports you in your time of need".

CNN would be seen as Idiots for saying that.

Presidents always go to Federal Disaster areas....If they are actually good at doing their job.

Of course...people like KLINTOON and KERRY would go to some foreign country because it is not raining there.

Part of what they Trounced 41 with was the economic fall out. They blamed 41 for the economic downturn after the Hurricane. The media carried the tune for them.

THE DEMS ARE ALREADY PLANNING ON DOING THE SAME WITH THIS.

It amazes me that they will make a bogus claim that an economic fall....due to a HURRICANE...is the fault of the administration. What shocks me about it...is there are people amongs the general population (SHEEPLE) who will buy into it.

Wait a minute....scratch that....I'm not shocked.

I say we start beating the Democraps at their own game.

WHERE IS JOHN KERRY?! Why was he not there on the beach when the storm made landfall?!

Kerry is out of touch with needs of the people!

Kerry was too busy wind surfing!

This Hurricane was actually caused by Dem fat a--gnomes (That's right...I did not say cats) on Beacon Hill.

There....the democraps should be familiar with those screams.

"CNN just said, "This President usually doesn't go to disaster areas. With an election only 79 days away, one must wonder is politics are involved".

FoxNews had Stuart Varney on earlier, and he was lamenting (actually celebrating) that Charley was going to crush GDP growth "like Andrew did when his Bush's father was President in 1992 (Hurricane Andrew). It destroyed business in this country, and led to a recession".

One problem though, all indicators were that the economy was out of recession by that time. The rest is HISTORY.

I have been in at least 9 MAJOR Hurricanes, and I have NEVER heard of a storm being politicized in any election. I hate the media… Including Fox on weekends!!!

That didn't take long. The president is damned by the left no matter what he does. Just think what they'd be saying if he HADN'T done it.

"I guess they have forgotten 9/11."

They forgot 9/11 a long time ago, and they want the rest of us to forget it too.

And the really galling thing about it is that they think that we're all stupid enough to buy it. Personally, I'm pretty sick of being defined by these condescending, self-appointed social engineers.

If anything, these storms cause an increase in business in some sectors. You have reconstruction of home and businesses which helps the building supply retailers. Homes and business also have to replace appliances and furnishings. There will be plenty of federal and state money going into these areas. True, yuou have some businesses that have to close, thus loss of jobs for some. But it's not the scenerio that Varney envisions.

Varney has some insights , but this one is kind of odd.

"The hurricane was funded by Texas fat cats with strong ties to Karl Rove."

I knew there had to be a logical explanation. So, since we're so danged clever as to be able to arrange hurricanes, why can't we engineer nature to accommodate some precision hits on certain...ummm, undesirables?

Agreed, but they are what they are and we have to deal with it. Bush looks like he is going to do just that.

Hopefully W will come and go without footage for the next mooron fake-umentary. If the TV stations do what they did with Bush 41 and ANDREW, put a sobbing EOC director on saying they still need help down here, Bush better respond and meet with them.

Not that any of this is real, but it's the way the leftists media is playing the game.

It's too bad because all this is tangential to the real problem and that is CHARLEY IS A DISTASTOR.
