I'm sure I'll have the same thing this year in high school, so I'll think of how I can sneak a tape-recorder in. Might see if any talk radio hosts would help me get the proper equiptment to do it without getting noticed(example, give me one of those things news anchors wear and I'll pin it on the inside of my jacket.)

Very good post and article. I too have an incoming freshman this June (my youngest). He has been homeschooled totally up to now so I do have some worries about public high schools. The H.S. he will be going to is one of the better in this liberal hell they call Oregon.
His Mom and I feel he has a VERY solid conservative and religious base and will do very well.
Welcome to FreeRepublic! My congratulations and best wishes in your upcoming years of education and conservatism.

Make sure to use fresh tape and write the date and time of the class. Also, write down any specific information about the instructor, any other organizations they belng to (ie. NOW, GLAD, GLARP etc.). Make sure to ask the questions during class so they can be recorded and do not under any circumstances voice your opinions until you have documented what has been said.

Thanks for the report. I'm curious to know (if you don't mind discussing it), how much did this "instructor" instruct on homosexuals and homosexual sex?
Btw, these classes are starting at an earlier grade than eighth. A friend of mine has a 10 year old daughter in the public schools who has already been subjected to a sex education class. Only they called it "life skills" to hide it from the parents.

Those ar high functioning pieces of audio equipment.
Radio shack used to have some stuff that is priced in your range and would work. Sound acutated tape recorders and the like that fit in your pocket and are made to pick up "faraway" sound sources with less echo.
There is also a DAT (digital audio tape) stereo microphone (mic) that looks like eyeglasses or fits into a hat. These can be gotten for less money today because DAT is getting old. People used to use them for recording concerts and such. They work with battery powered DAT decks.
Talk to your parents about it--it may be illegal!

That was probably the only good thing about the week. I don't recall even hearing the word homosexual mentioned.
My first sex-ed class was at age 11 in 6th grade, but it taught strictly about the sex organs, nothing about condoms or abstinence. And PP didn't teach it.

Thanks for the report. Stay alert and be strong. Remember the motto of the left: speak up even if your voice trembles. We should heed that motto, too.
Just out of curiosity, has she discussed abstinence at all?
If you wanted to provoke her, you could suggest that it is a "conflict of interest" to have an organization teaching "how to do it" that also provides "the" service of getting teens "out of trouble" when the instructions successfully produced the result they are designed to produce (pregnancy). It would be similar to the owner of "Fred's Used Cars" teaching the driver-ed class.
Good luck and team up with others like yourself!!

"Uh, this is NOT an 8th grade student,"
You are right.
An eighth grader would not be spelling "juvinile" and "strangeley" incorrectly.
Most likely an idiot adult.

Yeah, if I did this it would be only after I had gotten a lawyer. I'm not sure about the legallity. TV station do hidden-camera investigations all the time, but maybe it's different if it's in a school.

Sounds alot like the schoolboard near me that got slammed for wanting to implement a curriculum that would've taught sex-ed to 3rd & 4th graders.
To the point that they were teaching them some rather 'out of the norm' things.
5th graders here are taught the mechanics and such of it already.
