We made it up til 30 seconds into HalberSPAM's lecture.
Leni Riefenstahl's cheeks positively would've glowed.
IMO, this show did not come together overnight. It had months of planning and hours of meticulous wordsmithing.
Since the book is not yet out, they didn't have to cover any specifics. But they can point back and say: Hey, we did a whole show on that controversy, folks!
They used the "Fog of War" to cover a lot of poop in Kerry's sandbox.
Another table-turning device: using a clip of one vet saying: only a man who served and got shot at should be CIC, because he'll be much less likely to go to war.
Anyway, will someone who watched to the end please tell me, did anyone ask:
Senator Kerry, will you please sign Release Form #180 so that your complete miltary record can be released, and the questions about your service can be put to rest?
Random?? Where did they get vets with a 50/50 split? I am a vet and know many. Only ONE I know is voting for Kerry.
Question--How many film clips of Nam soldiers have you seen when they only served 4 months--most of it on a boat where you cant shoot good footage as the boat has to keep moving to make a harder target. Lots of good footage of J Fin K then he gets out 6 months early to start his illustrious career as a pol. Need anything else be said about the MAN?? The fact that it is all so clear as blinding daylight makes me wonder how many braincells are left in the US, And for that reason alone I am in favor of stem cell research....
What can be done to change the media.Something has to,they controll what America knows!!!!
Thought he got out 8 months early...
It should be expected the media would tarnish the 'Nam vets again, these were the same unwashed masses that labeled our troops baby killers. No, I'm not surprised at their coverage. I expect this from them.
It is the conservative media I hold to a higher standard. It is the conservative media that has disappointed me.
At the end of the day, with exception of a few, journalists have proven to be an unworthy lot.
No, journalists' coverage of this is almost meaningless. It is the American people I pray will see the Truth & stand up for these Vets.
Yes, I did and I can't find it either! Where did it go?
Yes, WORRY. In the 20's and 30's Germany was churning out more Phd's than anyone--then they voted the Nazi's in. Don't ever overestimate the public smarts--Kerry could still slide smoothly into office and Armageddon will be just around the bend....
We need to change the libel laws. Ever since the Sullivan vs NYTs case, the press can get away with just about anything.
I think as far as TV goes, there is a clause in their FCC licenses that requires them to operate in the "public interest". Perhaps if a clever lawyer were to show biased reporting was not in the public interest.
I know once I started investing in mutual funds and stocks, I stopped listening to the MSM, as I wanted make my investments based on facts.
If that is the best ABC can do, John Kerry is in very BIG trouble.
You forgot his planting the flag at Imo Jima.
( actually think they do a pretty good, wholly slanted job-- but I think Kerry is still in trouble.
Actually she was pretty hot, especially after viewing all those old codgers.
I agree.
I am happy to see that coverage of the story is still alive (I don't agree with a lot of the conclusions by journalists even on conservative media (actually, a lot of it makes me astonished I still have a screen to view on)).
Again, I'm happy to see the story still has legs, and pray that people with common sense will see through the lies.
"I have seen men cut off limbs, cut off ears, force civilians to eat foie gras which had been sitting out all day, make them drink Bordeaux which had reacted with the cork, made VCs go without a proper manicure for nearly a week..."
Did Stalin allow the defendants to speak at his show trials? Do the Chinese allow defendants to speak at their mass-execution stadium rallies? Same thing, new era.
Just wait until CFR blackout time kicks in.
The only source of information will be Rush, Hanity Radio, and 50% of FNC.
I won't be happy until they displace The Rapist at the top of the NYT list. (that is, if the Times allows them to enter as "non-fiction")
I'm tired and sooooo angry. Just throwing out a couple of random questions.
David Brinkley seems to be getting quite the free pass -- for his book that apparently repeats all of Kerry's war hero claims without much reservation or scrutiny.
Adm. Jeremiah Denton is a former Democrat, former U.S. Senator, and former Vietnam POW (7 years, 7 months). He has written pretty extensively about why he does not support John Kerry, and Kerry is unfit to lead this country. I wonder if McCain would tell Denton to sit down and shut up.
Fred Barnes danced all around the obvious question, yet failed to pose it directly... e.g. Why doesn't Kerry release his complete military record and put the questions to rest?
Brit Hume put Mara LieALot and Juan Wimpsy on the spot pretty good at the end of the roundtable. Basically, they were both forced to admit the questions were legitimate and deserved answers -- FROM THE CANDIDATE! The last camera shot showed both of them bobbing their heads with deer-in-the-headlights expressions.
O'Reilly, as always, was uninformed, egocentric, and assinine when interviewing one of the Swift Vets tonight. Gardner (forgot his first name) gave two specific and fairly lengthy examples of Kerry's lying... you could tell O'Reilly wasn't even listening... as soon as Gardner took a breath, O'R asked: But Mr. Gardner, we can all agree that John Kerry was brave, right? It was a brain killing moment. Say WHAT??? Then O'R wrapped it all up in a "fog of war" tamale and called it a night.
