The Annenber Poitical Fact Sheet, a self-described non-partisan organization...yes, but somebody posted on here a day or so ago that the "Fact" Sheet was actually run by a Seth somebody who has ties to Teddy Kennedy and other leftie causes - non-partisan my a@@ - anyhow it's up to the commanding officers immediately involved to determine if the PH should be awarded, and several of Kerry's I believe have said they wouldn't have approved of at least one of his had they known all the facts - I wonder what the "Fact" Sheet thinks about Kerrys' having lied about the rice incident, saying he was wounded by enemy fire and/or an exploding mine.......

The Swift Boat Veterans certainly are displaying more character than anyone at the DNC. I would bet that they collectively have more character than the entire Beltway establishment.

Kerry is a narcissistic liar and opportunist. He can't be trusted to skipper a boat, much less the ship of state.

In states in the article that the Navy was going to release all of his 'records', and they (the records)would not support his wearing a V metal. Shouldn't we expect the same from the Navy and Kerry in this case. Afterall he is, just like W, running for President.

In the circumstance you describe, pure self-funding, there is no law requiring reporting, etc.

However, Campaign Fianance Reform, and a host of laws before that, circumscribe a limit on your financial assistance to others who are speaking out, as well as reporting rules for them. These laws were passed by Congress, signed into law (George W. Bush signed the most recent), have been tested in the Supreme court, and are in effect.

None of these laws apply to media.

Regardless of Nixon being in office or not, or what the Swift Boat guys say, John Kerry has contradicted himself with this story. He states on the floor of the Senate that on Christmas Day 1968 he was in Cambodia, which we know is a lie. In Brinkley's book he tells of a mortar attack on the very same day 50 miles away from Cambodia, probably closer to the truth.

Not unlike the Clintons and their silly tale of Hillary being named after Sir Edmund Hillary, who at the time of her birth was an unknown New Zealand beekeeper, Kerry can't help telling these whopper sized lies. When referring to his single boat Cambodian campaign he says he sent a message back to his superiors referring to his boat as the Navy's most inland unit. I can't believe he hasn't learned yet that when you run for president people are going to look this stuff up. Inventing the internet and being the basis for the plot of "Love Story" are part of the reason Gore didn't win in 2000. The problem with not telling the truth is that he has to keep his story straight.

My assessment is that the President is wisely allowing others to do the dirty work. He needs to appear Presidential and above the fray for the undecided voters who will decide the election.
