"What is wrong with FOX?"
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1184804/posts

Posters who want an answer to the "lead" question of this article should see the excellent
post #215 by freeper "Ellaminnow".

FOX is being chilled by the de facto "COMMUNIST/TOTALITARIAN Patriot Act"
enforced by the Democratic-Sociallists.

>>I care if FNC is actually fair and balanced.<<

Fine, but how do you define "fair and balanced?"

>>But I care even more that a powder keg doesn't explode. That would hurt Bush/Cheney's chances.<<

What are you talking about? How would anything that Fox does or doesn't do help or hurt B/C's chances? Further, as I stated earlier, liberals and the media would use any excuse to create a powder keg. Witness the reaction to the swift boat vets vs. the reaction to Michael Moore.

>>There are deep pockets out there that would love to sue FNC. They are already doing it. <<

These suits are frivilous and will be thrown out. The Fox attorneys are smart enough to take care of that, and the Fox executives know that. Any supposed suits have no basis on what Fox does. O'Reilly and Smith were just misinformed.

>>They would do it on an appearance that FNC is in Bush's pocket.<<

There's no such appearance, unless you want to count idiots that think Bush planted bombs in the World Trade Center and there was no plane that hit the Pentagon.

>>So that appearance must be avoided. In some sense it doesn't matter what the truth is, FNC doesn't want that firefight.<<

I can guarantee you that this is the furthest thing from Fox's collective mind. And even if it isn't, it should be as all these idiots are going to say Fox is biased as long as they give any exposure to conservative views.

You got me. I bow to a superior intellect. I agree there would be no lawsuits to consider seriously. And I agree O'Reilly was misinformed when he went totally negative on the SwiftVets.

All these idiots are going to say Fox is biased as long as they give any exposure to conservative views.

I am not worried about what some idiots say. I am worried about forces on the left who are cunning and ruthless. They almost got Limbaugh.

There's no such appearance [that FNC is in Bush's pocket], unless you want to count idiots that think Bush planted bombs in the World Trade Center ...

Let's not say in Bush's pocket, but in the RNC's pocket, or some shadow operative's pocket. What I originally said about media bias (any bias), how it works, was meant to convey that they don't lie. They have standards for the words actually reported, so that they remain objective and truthful - it is the story selection, framing, and spin that do the bias work. I know that you know this. I was worried about that little extra bit of information that hadn't yet been vetted by appearing in the other media.

I only saw part of the O'Rielly segment with Morris re: Swift Boats, but it was enough to surprise me at his vehemence against the Swift Boat Vets. I guess we have to endure all the spin until the truth comes out, but it can get boring and even agrivating. For instance, the Dems contention that most of the crew of Kerry's boat supported him, and that the critical vets were not in his crew, and so, the Dems claim, are unworthy of being listened to. Well....duh...of course most of his own crew support his view; they were involved in and part of everything he did and also probably had and have a true team feeling. However, the commanders of other boats in his "flotilla?" probably had a better view of his fitness for command, since they were doing the same sort of work he was, in the same operations. You're having been there, does my analysis make sense to you?

My email to Fox News

The reason I watch your channel for my news is because of the balance you try to keep on both sides of the isle. Lately the liberal side seems to have taken over and I’m very close to tuning you out for good if you don’t right the ship quickly. I don’t watch any of the other news channels and I certainly won’t watch yours either if you become like them. You are heading in that direction lately and I will not watch you if this trend doesn’t stop. Trust me when I tell you that MANY other Fox News “fans” are saying the same thing and you better take notice and correct the problem. The reason of your success is because you were not like the “others” and if you become like the others there is no need for us to watch. Get the message?

Soon to be ex-Fox watcher

Let us say that the Bildebergers have chosen Kerry for President. You had better get your money where you can get hold of it, because 1929 may come back if he wins...maybe not right away but in a year or two I expect ALL HELL TO BREAK LOOSE. KERRY'S love of the UN screams ANTICHRIST type behavior....This election will either redeem America or we may be facing Judgment, who knows. I have always been an optimist, but this has me concerned as much as Election 2000!

We have already started downsizing with the small stuff, and extra land I am not using is for sale now. I am moving into smaller place not larger as most people are doing....I do not like what I see on the horizon.
