Which battalion is this guy in? Good post.
May the angels continue to watch over these guys...

JF - this is must read. BC
I think he's keeping that to himself. I don't recall him writing about it anyway. Did you see the link to the rest of his entries? Not as crazy as todays but great reading.
I've been reading this guy every day as well, but he's asked us not to link to him from our site. Last time we linked to a soldier blog it got shut down. Glad you guys are giving him a little publicity.
Man, I hope I didn't screw anything up. I'd gladly kick in for the bandwidth if there is trouble. I do know the comments on his blog have grown exponetially over the past week. You don't think they could shut him down do you. I would feel horrible.
Un-be-lievable. That kid can write! That is the most riveting first person account of battle Ive read in a long time. He writes better than most professionals.
My first though is of Black Hawk Down. Just wow.
No, I think you're fine linking to it - glad you did. Our site attacts the eyes of a lot of folks with the brigade, so we are playing it safe for now. He is getting a ton of links from other mil sites as well.
Though, I didn't like reading that part about many soldiers voting for Kerry - (just to get home).
hah, mind telling us where to get it?
Remote Weapons Station
Wow! Thanks for that. That helps me completely. The guy on the right is in the position described in the entry. Just wow. Nice scope too.
Thank You
Borad daylight with a 5 in the corner like that is Iraqi News 5.....
Then they zoom in on the blood stain that used to be the back of his skull.
The BIG difference is that Germany built 8,000 Amrored vehicles. The US built 50,000 Shermans alone.
The best was when the Pershing came out. 90mm High Velocity Gun would take out a Tiger and even a King Tiger.
The Sherman was the best we had with the intel of the Germans in Africa. The Mark IV was towards the end.
Read Panzer Commander by Hans Von Luck. Who was in command against the Brits at Pegasus Bridge Normandy. He was with Rommel in the desert and marveled at the Shermans at the time.
We massed produced, and the Sherman was faster, had electric turrents while the Panzers had hand cranks. The Shermans could be fixed quick and interchanged.
The biggest evidence is that there were Tigers and King Tigers left untouched. They quit working and were abandoned. They were too complicated to fix in the field.
The Best footage and story is the tank commander in a Pershing coming into a town. There was a Tiger at the end of the street, the commander told the driver to floor it straight forward while the gunner fired. In the film footage there was a cameraman who was close enough to be thrown around by the backblast, but you can see the Armored Piercing round fly. The Tiger was doomed.
Not only does this guy kick ass, but he like skateboarding and punk rock, too. My kinda GI.
