Nope I don't think so. That is the oldest promise in history. We had the option of handing President Bush a Victory in Fallujah. Victory brings you up in the polls. We decided to retreat from Victory and thus gave a defeat to President Bush.
Bush is behind in the polls.

Fallujah was a test for the Iraqis. Which of them where with US? Some threatened to walk if we did not pull out of Fallujah. We should have let them walk and replaced them with Iraqis who supported US. Then we should have finished up with Fallujah.

What are we doing now? Concentrating on keeping our casualties low. Heck, if we want to keep them, low, lets just get the he*l out. So we will just hang outside the cities and out of range of car bombers and mortars and rockets - until of course, the enemy, afforded the time, will get a hold of better armament and reach out and touch us.

Hopefully, W will get reelected to a new 4 years, before the enemy gets rearmed with new weaponry.
