Berger risked jail time by what he did. What he has tried to hide must be worth that kind of risk and must be devastating.

Which is why I never believed G. Gordon Liddy's story about the Watergate break-in being about retrieving naughty photos of John Dean's wife.

The only upside to having to see Mark Geragos defending Scott Peterson on a daily basis is that he can't fly to Washington and give Berger the Susan McDougal treatment.

We may never know exactly what Watergate was about. I suspect it was an opportunity to gather info and pull off some dirty tricks for political advantage.

I have a question and I think you are just the person who might know the answer. When stories like this come out, do the other reporters know or figure out who leaked?

McVeigh refused to appeal his sentence. He said he wanted to die. But it was very fast.

And doesn't anyone remember that Chandra Levy was working on the papers that were to be turned over to McVeigh's defense team when she was abruptly fired from her internship and then murdered?

I think that there is some guy in jail on another crime who is a suspect in her murder, but I don't think anyone was ever convicted.

I agree with you that this is probably what happened. But too many people were involved with clinton's slimy coverup to possibly allow them to break the story now. The FBI were in it up to their eyeballs, and have continued to lie after the change of administration. The CIA was also involved, given the mysterious presence of a high-up German national at Elohim City. The ATF were involved as well.

Most likely clinton knew about the bombing plot before it happened, and either they pulled it off before the FBI managed to stop them, or it was allowed to go forward to give clinton a boost in his election campaign--which it did, big time, as Ambrose Evans-Pritchard argued at the time. Clinton was all set to go with his big speech blaming on Limbaugh, the militias, and Newt.

I don't know for sure. I would expect that someone had an exclusive source. Other reporters won't know who that is unless they have followed things so closely that it leads them inexorably to a certain source they suspect. From past stories, someone actually might be able to narrow down who it could be. Especially in the age of the internet. Remember that someone figured out that it was Joe Klein who wrote PRIMARY COLORS. Joe denied it but later admitted it.

Berger was likely involved in withholding evidence from the defense in the OKC bombing, however I suspect the Millennium after action report drafts are unrelated malfeasance. Although the terrorists in the Millennium drafts are under the same umbrella as the OKC foreign terrorists, I seriously doubt the memo explicitly makes such connection.

Nichols has an ex-wife and son whose lives wouldn't be worth spit if he talked.

With this reasoning though - one can come to any conclusion and just say "they aren't talking because they would be dead" - But are you seriously saying that our Government couldn't protect them?

I mean, if he had all the goods and could give up Iraq and all - that GWB could not put the best of the best we have to protect him and his family - that this wouldn't be enough??

That is why I don't buy that argument - if Clinton was in office - maybe it would hold some weight - Intellectually speaking that is (because he wouldn't want to see Nichols and his family protected) - But with GWB in office - are we saying that he couldn't find any honest, good, experienced shooters to defend these people?? - I just don't buy that -

Clinton didn't know, but he used this masterfully to create an unprecedented partisan divide in this country. He did that to save his presidency. No matter what he did, his supporters dug in their heels because they had to defeat the dreaded right wing.

McVeigh definitely identified with the Iraqi people, was opposed to the first Gulf War and his first public statement after being convicted for the OKC bombing reflects that. It is quoted in the book as well.

Nichols political feelings aren't as clear to me and Davis doesn't pretend to have all the answers. It is a book worth reading and making up your own mind.

I had previously been interested in this matter but thought it was mostly conspiracy theory stuff. All that changed after reading Davis's book.

And a friend who thought I was nuts when I told her about the book and the fact that Iraq was behind the bombing just finished reading it Monday and has shocked herself - she's convinced.

Maybe I should read the book - I'll look for it -

Though, I'm sure one can gather a bunch of facts to an already pre-concieved notion - I hope this isn't what the book is -

I just have a hard time with conspiracy theories - There is just to much money to be bad in keeping them alive - and also too much money for those behind them....not to just "openly out" the facts behind the theory (Nichols could get out of jail tomorrow and his family would be rich beyond their dreams...and they could buy their own protection team.....if he really could tie the Middle-East into the bombing)

Hell, wasn't his friend (Nichols friend that is) from MI a huge anti-Government type guy - Why wouldn't he want to bring our whole scandalous government down by outing how it has covered up all these things??

These people knew in 1999 that there were foreign terrorists here in the U.S. We have to find out what was in that memo. They are afraid that they will. They knew Al-Zawahiri was in OKC helping make final preparations before the bombing. They know that!

There are more facts in the book than I can lay out for you. I don't fall for stuff easily and am a big cynic. But you'll have to judge for yourself.

You have no idea how good and compelling this book is. David Schippers says that what she has will hold up in a court of law. He, too, had been a skeptic. Now he is a firm believer. Her work is endorsed by James Woolsey and Frank Gaffney.

What's the conclusion of the book - Bottom line?

Is it that Iraq hit OKC and TWA 800 or Al Qeade did?
