Interesting, but....the biggest crime Bill Clinton committed as president... was selling technology to the Chinese. It will be decades before the impact of that is known (i.e. full-blown war with China). But it will happen and it will make this whole matter look trivial.

Well, it's Jayna Davis' work that makes this totally believable. Jayna proved beyond any doubt that McVeigh and Nichols did not act alone. When she proved that Iraqis participated, the question has to be asked "Why the coverup?"

The answer is there was a reason for the coverup and it was political. As some have arqued that China getting Nuclear Technology is the biggest crime, I would not put that in the paper if I wrote it again as it detracts from the basic message: Two Conspiracy events that happened before the 1996 election are tied to foreign terrorists.

Given the fact that Iraqis killed Americans in 1995 in OKC, Clinton would have had no choice but to do what GWB has done in the last two years. I bet Clinton would now do the "right" thing if he could do those years again. But he didn't. He lied and people died because of it.

Clinton in one of his interviews recently (either CBS or Larry King) said that he was wise to make sure nobody jumped to conclusions about foreign involvement in OKC.

Jayna Davis makes a big point about the change of emphasis in OKC. To me, it all makes sense now:

I think the Journal is the only main stream widely read media outlet that has the balls and the research capability to build on your thesis and take it to the world public.

Quit thinking CONSPIRACY THEORY and start asking WHY.

The WHY here is the abuse of PRESIDENTIAL power. Nobody else can pull the strings to make an Oklahoma City happen.

9-11 is a direct result of Clinton covering up foreign involvement in the bombing. If you don't believe that's true, please at least listen to her WARROOM interview.

If this news of Sandy Bergler was "leaked" for political reasons (by the Pubbies that is) it would have been two or three weeks before the election not the convention. The "curious timing" canard is a dog that don't hunt.

What I have been missing in these theories is why foreign terrorists would participate in the OKC and TWA800 attacks but then fail to claim credit and threaten more of the same or worse. I haven't been following the discussions on these theories in any detail, so I may have missed the explanation. Can you fill me in on the thinking on that question?

Let me try for you. And Bill_C, please consider adding this bit of explanatory theory to your own.

Laurie Mylroie has documented that Iraqis were involved in the first World Trade Center bombing in 1993. Now, it is possible that the Clinton administration never figured this out, but that is not necessary to carry the theory forward.

That WTC bombing failed. However, Iraq was determined to bring down those towers. They knew that a van full of explosives would not do it. So they had to experiment with other ways to bring down a large building.

The Murrah Building bomb was a test bombing, to see if a bomb powerful enough to bring down a building could be stuffed into an innocuous looking small truck that could be driven into lower Manhattan. But this bomb, too, failed to bring down the building. This is why we have seen no more truck bombings in the U.S. And why the Iraqis did not take credit for the OKC bombing.

So, what to do next? What else could produce an explosive powerful enough to bring down the World Trade Center?

Perhaps an exploding jumbo jet? Al Qaeda terrorists in Asia had been plotting for a while to bomb several jets and even try crashng one into the CIA. The Iraqi intelligence got this information and began planning a test bombing of a plane to see what the explosive power would be. They even asked Al Qaeda to do it for them. Al Qaeda was happy to oblige. This was TWA 800. It was a success. (I happen to believe there was a bomb on the plane rather than a missle fired at it.) It was bombed close to shore so that lots of data on the explosion would be available. Again, no one takes credit because this was only a test for the real thing.

Next, they needed to see if they could get a pilot to deliberately crash an airplane. They did, on the Egypt Air flight that crashed in New York Harbor.

So, all the tests had been run to show that the World Trade Center towers could be brought down by training suicide pilots to crash airplanes into the towers. All that was needed was to find the hijacking teams, train them (which I believe was done at the Salman Pak training camp in Iraq) and let them go.

And Iraq got the ultimate payback on the U.S. for the 1991 Gulf War. And by using Al Qaeda to carry out the attack, Saddam Hussein's fingerprints were not on it. Al Qaeda thought it would benefit by the astonishing exercise of its power which would help it attract new recruits and funding. And, of course, all of them assumed that the U.S. government would do nothing, because Bill Clinton did nothing after all of their previous test attacks.

Al-Qaida-OKC link included in Berger doc?

Jayna Davis, author of "The Third Terrorist: The Middle Eastern Connection to the Oklahoma City Bombing," points out the writing of the report was in the same timeframe Yossef Bodansky, former director of the Congressional Task Force on Terrorism and Unconventional Warfare, confirmed that Dr. Ayman Al-Zawahiri, one of al-Qaida chief Osama bin Laden's lieutenants, traveled to Oklahoma City in the spring of 1995 " to insure the smooth execution of the pending terrorist strike against the Murrah federal complex," said Davis.

Mrs. Davis may be correct and it would not surprise me if this theory was vetted before she went public with it. Additionally, U.S. intelligence operative Ali Mohamed was escorting Al-Zawahiri during his spring of 1995 U.S. travels, which included OKC. The 9-11 "mastermind" Khalid Mohammed was in OKC in 1995 prior to the bombing, as well.
