...Maybe Berger can hire Johnny Cochran to be his lawyer and have himself "try on" the documents...

My, my, how are the democrats going to spin this mess?

They'll ignore it. The only time it will be mentioned in the media will be at 2 AM so they can claim they covered it.

The story the Dems are sticking to is that the whole thing was innocent and inadvertent. Just a slight mistake.

I always shove my mistakes down my pants and apparell, don't you? :0)

Fox is the only media on record reporting that Berger's lawyer stated he put them in his socks....

No, first reported on CNN, I believe. If not first, they for sure have been reporting it.

It's all about sox.

Of course! Why didn't I think of that.

But, ya gotta admit, with stories of sticking docs in pants and socks, this story has "legs". ;-)

I just heard Tom DeLay on ABC Radio News say "I only know what I read in the papers, but it sounds to me like a third-rate burglary."

TOOOO-SHAY!

"Code word" refers to particular intelligence sources and programs. You can look at a report's classification, typically TOP SECRET/(CODEWORDS) and tell exactly how the information was derived. As I said in an earlier thread, this is shaping up as the most serious breach of national security since the Ames case...when classified information is lost, you have to assume it has been compromised, no matter what lame excuses Burger may offer...

It all depends on the meaning of knit.

One more thing...if Berger took code word materials, then they weren't stored in some "reading room," they were maintained in a SCIF (Sensitive Compartmentalized Intelligence Facility) with extensive security, tightly controlled access and (presumably) someone who's supposed to monitor folks leaving the facility. We might ask who no one bothered to check Berger's portfolion when he left the SCIF.

"It's all about sox."

Here are a few others...

"Practice safe socks"
"Socks-ual harassment"
"I don't have socks on the first date"
"Socks for money"
"Socks outside of marriage"

All right, I give up. I'm no good at this...apparently, neither was Berger...

Yet a petty shoplifter would not be seen as innocent or inadvertant if they were found stuffing store merchandise down their pants. Who are they trying to deceive? The voters so they can try again to run this country into the ground?

First thing I learned in the Navy. If anything happen to classified material, your mince meat. We really feared Leavenworth and it kept us on our toes. Burger held a top spot in the NSA. He knew the laws and the consequences if he didn't follow them. I'm sure he was paid well while serving as a NSA. I had to follow the procedures exactly, become a nervous wreck and be under paid. There is no excuse. The Dems are trying to make this federal crime into a mischievous misdemeanor...like stealing donuts from Starbucks. I wish the American public wake up and smell the coffee! I'm going to write to my congressman. I'm getting angry! Dems can't be trusted with our National Security. They will get us all killed to keep Clinton legacy intacted!

What and why are very, very easy!!

The dem crapweasels have been shouting for weeks that the was no connection between Iraq & 9-11. Most believed that it was to suggest that Bush didn't have grounds to free Iraq.

The real reason was to syop any investigation. An investigation would prove that Willie was involved and could have prevented 9-11 except that he took Iraqi oil voucher money (through Marc Rich/Imcore) to avoid killing Osama and destroying his infrastructure.

Berger was simply trying to destroy evidence that proved that Willie was dirty. Willie has destroyed documents to avoid attention for his whole career.

You ain't Lying! Especially at the classification involved here. If that stuff is discovered missing a message must be fired off to DC immediately. Heads would roll, Skippers get fired, etc. Needless to say we didn't lose the stuff!

Don't bet on it. There has been one case of treason after another under this administration (beginning with, say, McDermont), yet Bush and Ashcroft have not indicted a single person. Do you think they will magically grow spines?

No offense meant Philip, but have you not been paying attention for the past 3 years?

This administration is playing chess, not checkers.

Unlike, stealing some silverware from the White House or pulling the "W" off of keyboard, or something the media can spin as only about "sex", this is a real crime, committed by someone who should have known better. The media can spin it any way they want, but two things, Clinton is not in charge, they media can refuse to cover it, but they can not block it, and this man is going to be brought in to face a Judge.

This investigation has been going on since October (from the reports I have read). Is it possible that Berger has already made a deal?

We are in some interesting times. The left has gone off the deep end while for the most part this administration has ignored them. This has driven them even more "crazy" and they go on to do even more outrageous things.

Those on the left have already lost credibility, so when one of theirs is brought up on charges, who are the American people going to believe? They should have read the story about the little boy that cried wolf.

I would say that this administration is just now gearing up for the campaign. Kerry wants to talk about Viet Nam, I have a feeling he will hear more about Viet Nam (and his role helping the North then he cares to.

This President has not responded the way many on this forum wanted him to, but there was a reason (and that is the main stream media). Every second, every minute, every hour the power of the main stream media is being diluted, and the fun part is they are doing it to themselves.

Entertainers are begining to be challenged, news outlets are being challenged, liberals are being challenged, from this day forth we should never give them another free pass.

I really believe we are seeing the end of the Democratic party.

When classified information has been handled in the manner in which Berger has handled it, you have to assume it has been compromised. The fact that he returned some of the documents in no way lessens the breach.

One might reasonably question the security of anything that Berger has ever had the power to compromise.

For all we know, Berger's assignment was to steal, modify, and then surrender certain copies of documents from certain sources. Others may have been assigned to compromise other copies of the same documents. If all copies can be accessed and modified, then those who have the power to modify them can rewrite history to their liking.
