During the debates, anytime Kerry offers advice on national security, the president can respond, wher'd you get that idea--a stolen memo?

I believe Berger was. And the BC-04 campaign has already dropped the hint that damage was done if Berger used the documents to brief Kerry on the nation's terrorism preparedness.

"There's an ethic here — that is of strict discipline, of not letting the fact you're working on a political campaign start to color your actions when it comes to national security," Hunter said.

This will leave a mark.

Just curious, but how does one "inadvertantly" manage to leave the national archives with classified and SCI documents stuffed in one's trousers and/or socks?

If it was Clinton himself, I could understand. Perhaps an administrator walked in during one of his little tristes and in yanking his drawers up, some documents fell in as he rushed to leave the scene. But Berger?

The fact that they're even attempting to pass this off as "inadvertant" is just another in a growing list of examples of how morally and ethically bankrupt the democrats have become. Do I think anything will come of this? Absolutely not.

I have to assume that what Sandy said was right — that any removal of documents in his socks inadvertent. But it is serious."

ROFLMAO

First the Democrats lectured us on what "is" is. Then they tried to tell us that "sex" didn't include a woman causing a man to orgasm anyplace, which couldn't result in a baby being created. Then "purgry" was redefined to exclude lying under oath about anything that was embarising. Now we have a new Democratic party definition of the word "inadvertent."

How can they do this with a straight face. Don't any reports have the guts to ask, say "excuse me how could putting papers in your socks ever be "inadvertent?"

I expect more from Joe Liebermann. How sad!

Good! Bush should do that. I think Berger stole them to help Kerry's campaign. Watch a bigger conspiracy unfold. This may just be the thing that brings down the Kerry campaign.

KABOOM!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to be honest...I thought they might try and bury this story early.....but alas....my fears subside...for now.

I have already gotten e-mails from folks who do not follow politics at all....and they are talking about it.
One even mentioned how the dems coming out and repeating the "inadvertant" line looks pathetic. Like they were all given a seminar on what to say.
AND HE IS A DEMOCRAT!
He is slowly being turned to the good side...so I must keep working on him.

Shades of "Where were you next Thursday?" Kerry hasn't been nominated yet.

My theory-Hillary put him up to it and her media lapdogs reveal it just in time for the Boston convention. She's going to rip Kerry and Edwards to shreds. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Berger was slated on a short list to be (are you ready for this?) Kerry's Secretary of State!!!

These people have a "talent" only for stealing elections (1992, 1996). The rat party is an absolute clear and present danger to you and me personally... to our very lives and the lives of our loved ones.

Yes, the missing documents are under Hillary's Rose Law Firm billing records, right next to the FBI files.

Let's harrass the CBS Evening news by calling their unpublished newsroom number....this will make an impact, unlike just calling the main number to CBS News or CBS itself:

"The documents that Sandy supposedly took were copies. There are copies elsewhere throughout the Archives and elsewhere in Washington, so it's not like he was trying to cover something up," Goodstein maintained to FNC.

Is that like saying, "The documents that James Bond supposedly took were just photos. The actual copies are still throughout the archives and elsewhere, so it's not like he was trying to cover something up."

It's not just that he took them (copies or originals), it's also whom he might have shown them to. Were those eyes also cleared for TOP SECRET data?

Has anyone heard Gordon Liddy's take on Berger lifting the documents?

It doesn't affect Kerry's biggest appeal to his supporters: Kerry isn't Bush.

At this point it's about turnout percentages. Winning the election means depressing your opponent's base, not converting hearts and minds.
