I beat up John Loftus on email for flacking for his loser/liar friend Wilson. This is his answer:

"Bull, they were right to call him for his wrong opinion on niger, but wrong to call him a liar (twice) and to out his wife as punishment, The truth has no party"

Note how the crisis of the SOTU address now is simply 'a wrong opinion'. This bozo was on every talk show and the NTY flacked for weeks re: the wrong call on Niger yellowcake.

Now that the call in the SOTU address re: Niger is correct, Joe Wilson simply had a wrong opinion. And we cant even get a correction burined in Section E page 16 of the NYT.

Wilson lied, Kerry swore to it and the liberal media did the Ole Joe Goebells on it.

It's pas time to get the Clinton loyalists and uber-liberals out of government. They are being paid to serve the American people, not to advance their leftist agenda.

Too bad this is too complicated for the average viewer to digest in a two minute news story.

If only a newsbabe on each channel could read a newsblurb settling the whole matter.

In other news, former Ambassador and husband of a CIA beaurocrat Joe Wilson was today exposed as a bold faced liar. It now appears he got his assignment to investigate the Iran/Niger uranium deal through nepotism. When unable to perform the job in any compotent manner, he tried to use his dubious report as a political tool to win media coverage for his poorly written and even more poorly selling book. In related news, Ambassador Wilson has been charged with 327 counts of mugging cameras, an astonishing record only matched by Chicago slugger Sammy Sosa during the 2003 season.

Wilson's letter is mainly notable for what it does not mention. He does not dispute the committee's finding that he was wrong to say he knew his report had reached the vice president's office, when he had no way of knowing whether it had or hadn't. He does not admit he was wrong to tell reporters that he knew the forged documents were bogus, when he had not seen them at the time of his trip. He does not leave the door open for future discussions about his trip, either with Congress or with the press.

Pingety-ping.

Maybe he'll talk to Fitzgerald.

There was much applause. And there was even more applause when Wilson then accepted the first-ever Ron Ridenhour Award for Truth-Telling, along with the award's $10,000 prize.

I knew Wilson had received this "award", now I see it was awarded for the first time. Sounds like it might have been created to launder a payoff to Wilson.

What's puzzling is that at times intelligence officials, quoted on background, also supported Wilson's claims.

Matthew sounds like he didn't fall off the turnip truck. It's time for him to take a deep breath and realize it is not puzzling it is criminal.

I am frankly getting irritated at many journalists who appear to have a brain act like the Senate Committee report revealed certain things for the first time. It didn't. What it did was add documentation to evidence that was already apparent on the public record--enough that some of us here at FR had deduced what was going on.

The senior intelligence official cited in Matthew's example was probably Alan Foley, Plame's boss who authorized the Wilson trip. Since last summer when this story arose I and others here have pointed to these anonymous CIA officials quoted here and abroad (the BBC) touting the Wilson story which was from the start plainly a lie.

LOL!!!

I'm STILL waiting for somebody to explain to me how/why a "covert operative" at the CIA was "disseminating" a memo!

Also, Wilson appeared on CNN's Late Edition today. Blitzer actually did a pretty good job. Wilson spun like crazy but merely regurgitated from his weekend letters with little tweaks to the contents of those.

Loftus sounds like an idiot.

Wilson's name was given to reporters in order to explain and justify his trip to Niger. Certainly not by anyone to "harm" the odious duo.

Wilson was not part of this administration. Ever.
