I dropped AOL years ago when the PC BS became so gushy it had to be wiped off my desk whenever I used AOL. Tempted to subscribe again just so I can drop them again.

This was posted yesterday. AOL has changed the robot to be "non-political." And, I'm sure someone was disciplined for this stunt. Probably some lonely-heart geek with too much time on his hands, if you get my drift...

AOL has changed the robot to be "non-political." AOL has nothing to do with the site.

And, I'm sure someone was disciplined for this stunt. I really doubt it. AOL-Time Warner is a lefty corporation from the top to the bottom.

Use their free hours and then drop them when it comes time for paid usage.

The thing to watch with AOL Instant Messenger is that it seems to open up a hole for ad-ware programs to invest your system if you are not well protected.

i hate smarter child! he is such a jerk even for a computer program. I just tested him out, i guess they changed it to be non-political. Here is what he says now "Robots don't really get involved in politics"

More propaganda from the DIMOCRAT's JFKEDWARDS campaign. It's all for the children, we want to indoctrinate them as young as possible.

They contracted out to this third-party software developer to create their little IM assistant. Though they may not have written a line of the actual code, you can bet they throughly tested and approved of the final product.
Anyone who thinks they didn't know exactly what they were getting or that they would have bought a pro-Bush robot is kidding themselves.

"Source please."
The article says it all. AOL contracted with Conversagent Inc to write the bot.

Oh, BTW, all the cell phone companies are also complicit.

Are you serious or are you trying to be a wiseguy? So, when you lose your case, you demonize the messenger. hmmm.

Send the company a letter via e-mail boycotting their product and any company that associates with their product. See if they'll roll as easy as Whoopi?
