Our gummint already spends more research dollars on AIDS than on cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, drug abuse and alcoholism, and obesity combined.

Indeed, some 40% of the budget of the NIH's National Institute on Drug Abuse is spent on AIDS-related research, the logic being that AIDS is a "medical consequence" of drug abuse.....
